Suppressor bills in the non-free states

The ASA is pressing forward with their 'no State left behind' efforts, with suppressor legalization Bills before committees in Rhode Island and New York this week. The most preeminent argument for legal suppressors is hearing protection, where suppressors would make a huge difference in reducing hearing loss for residents during a lifetime's worth of shooting guns.

Suppressor legalization Bills had also been introduced in 2017 in CT, HI, IL and MA. Even if a Bill doesn't pass this year, incrementalism and laying the groundwork increases the odds for suppressor legalization in future years in many of the 8 States that currently prohibit suppressors.

The second paragraph should read reform not legalization. They are legal in CT for ownership but not hunting. The article with details is linked to from the article in your post.

Icambre, good point, thanks. To clarify...

The 8 States where suppressors are not legal are: HI, CA, IL, NY, NJ, DE, RI, MA

Additionally, the 3 States where suppressors are legal but not for hunting are: CT, VT and MD
