This could have been handled better. Domestic disturbance call got out of hand.

Report seems to indicate they turned multiple police dogs on the armed person in the woods at night. Shot the dogs and deteriorated from there.

This is the problem w "just get it over" vs "limited casualty containment."

We should be limiting Suspect's Freedom-of-Movement, not Escalating by using Preemptive Lethal Force (dogs.)

I see where one of the LE died, a human. What a waste.

York County Sheriff's office got mostly 2 star rating. This looked more like a scene from the movie "Rambo".

I usually say "comply and you won't die" when dealing with LE but don't see how you can surrender to a police dog in the woods at 3:30 AM in the dark. Would have been logical to form a perimeter, wait for the adrenalin levels to decrease, and daylight.

WOW. Aljazeera is really coming down hard on the police in the USA. You would think they would have enough problems of their own. They said something like 1,000 shootings/deaths by LE in the US in 2016 & also 2017. I don't know how about the validity of that statement.

...so, about 1000 per year.

Note: WAPO's methodology for the above is to build a database of every police shooting since they have news feeds for the entire USA. So their count is actual shootings resulting in death. If anything, WAPO's count may miss a few shootings due to not being covered in the news, but it is acknowledged by almost everyone as accurate.

They didn't cite how many of these Shootings were "return fire" vs "Ofr initiated." That would lend perspective to this.

Also, how many were Felony Stops vs "Stop and Frisk" or other "community outreach Interactions?"
