RWS-54 .22

Post by win912 »

I purchased a RWS-54 recently and have been trying out numerous pellets. It is amazing to me how some pellets perform at 50 yards. What I have discovered is the Crosman Premiers 14.30 grain group nicely covered by a quarter. I have also found that the Beeman FTS Double Gold 14.72 grain work very well too! I am new to the airgun stuff and would like to know about other shooters experiences and preferences with pellet performance. I appreciate any input. Thanks in advance. Kindly win912. :)

Here's a nice friendly forum to discuss many issues. http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/

Premier .22 and .177 are best sellers for many types of air rifles and then you have the top name British and German brands.
I've found choosing the right pellet the same as for .22LR's, each rifle or pistol has its own preference so its best to buy a few different brands to see which it prefers and shoots best. Which can be fun in itself.

Thanks for the input....I was shocked when I saw how the RWS pellets performed at long distance...for lack of words they sucked in my rifle. I received a assortment of pellets to sample. Some grouped very poorly and some great. Works great when squirrels attempt to dig up my wifes tulip bulbs

You can have a lot of fun with an air gun where you couldn't with a rimfire.

Soda crackers make good targets and the birds eat the mess, plastic toy soldiers are good targets also.

When you're snowed in just use the basement for a range.

Also check out different sites for useful info.
