a bad week

Post by plant.one »

so i need to vent. this is just crazy. I had a busy week because my minion was on vacation so i worked both schedules. which means i ate out almost every day this week. 600 miles in 4 days doesn't make one very prone to cooking dinner after a long day.

monday i got an eyelash on my napkin with the pizza seasonings
thursday i got a hair wrapped up in my silverware
today i got about a 5" hair in my rice.

In the last 30 days i've had a hair as part of my heal >10 times.

3 different restaurants. 3 different cities. what in the holy 7 hells is going on with the restaurant industry!

Wow, that's what I call a "hairy situation".

Those places didn't "scalp" you when it came to prices did they?

Everything will return to normal. At least that's what my fortune teller says.

I know plenty of people who bring their own napkin and silverware just so that they KNOW that it's clean.
Most people really don't care about incidental sanitation. If you want to get really freaked out, check the FDA's allowance for rodent parts and feces, plastic, pallet wood, etc.
I bit into a piece of pizza at the Factory where I worked and got a mouth 1/2 full of packing film, wooden pallet, and who knows what else that got scraped up off the floor. I spit it out and showed the cafeteria worker. I knew that it must have been where forklift tines broke through the package, scraping floor gulk into the underside of the pizza.
The cook never looked at the bottom. She just put it into the convection oven and then served it.
But being a Processing Tech, I knew precisely how it must have happened.
Disgusting, but to be statistically expected.

And restaurants have no FDA onsite Inspectors. All kinds of crazy crap happens. And workers just want a tip/paycheck. They aren't super careful.
There's a Dean Cook/Anna Farris movie called "Waiting." You should see how they show many of the things that happen and customers never realise.
