Ferrets

Post by Maser »

Yup, another one of my infamous bitchfest threads! Enjoy!! 8)

I am so sick of the sight of these things as pets. I don't know what I'm more sick of. The animals or the owners. Why are the owners so fucking delirious in accepting the fact that technically it's a fucking weasel! Calling it by a different name doesn't change what it is. And it's bad enough people dress up their cats and dogs, but have you seen how stupid ferrets look dressed up?!

Seriously ferret owners, grow up and get a cat or a dog. You know...........A REAL PET!!!!!

In my part of the world Ferrets are not kept as "pets" they are a kind of "Micro-hunting dog" -- They are kept for their quite stunning ability to chase out Rats, rabbits and other rodentia from any kind of burrow .. And often kill them as "part of the job" They are vicious little critters .. and smelly ..

Quite why one would keep on as a "pet" for dressing up in costumes and such like is quite beyond my comprehension ..

You can be assured of one thing .. they WILL bite you at some point, and escape and kill someones pet rat .. (Good riddance) ..

I know ferrets have a tendency to be a bit active of a creature so I never did get one as a pet. Plus my wife made a ruling on the matter too.

But, I always did want a pet beaver. I had heard anecdotal evidence that they made good affectionate pets with the worst aspect being that they need wood to chew on to keep their teeth in check. But, I did find a video that pretty much ruled out getting a pet beaver. I didn't realize how aggressive they could become if provoked.

Plus I don't need a pet drinking my beer.
