don't feel bad. i went to a machine gun shoot this last weekend where no one knew what a silencer sounded like.
that and when team stoneagle along with my equipment (maybe 10 machine guns total) laid our equipment on table, i heard one of the RO's say 'i've never seen so many machine guns at the same time'
first machine gun shoot you didn't need earmuff's either. no one ever shot. when you'd hear a slide/bolt rack, you'd just plug your ears and then go back to talking for another 20 minutes.

Been a member for like 15 years. First time someone has pissed me off out there. Since Ike they opened the range up for any LEO that want to use it.apochachuva wrote:Damn, I was thinking about joining that club. Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

The Coast Guard is a great service, as a matter of fact, it might be the most important part of our national defense, you know, guarding our boarders. Whats more, most years of our active military isn't all that active but the CG is always on.
My hat goes off to them, even if you did run into some pricks at he range. Always a few turds in the toilet.

As I understand it, they're actually both DHS and Military as the circumstances require.Baboon wrote:IIRC it's a Department of Commerce organization, not DoD.flip wrote:Probably just can envy, you got one, they are MIL and they don't. Who gives a s--t what they think, but yes you do have a nazi range if you can't shoot your toys. I belong to a 100 yard fud range but they don't care what you shoot as long as you don't screw with the 50 ydmuzzle loader range
To the OP, I think you're making a mountain out of a mole-hill. USCG are generally good guys, they were probably more curious than anything.

USCG was previously DoT, now DHS. They fall under the Pentagon during time of war.Baboon wrote:IIRC it's a Department of Commerce organization, not DoD.flip wrote:Probably just can envy, you got one, they are MIL and they don't.
