Aloha again,

From my 'blowback" post, noted that I've not shot nor kept up with the AR15/silencer world in 3 years. With that said, my questions below:

1. With my existing Rock River .223/5.56 and AAC Ranger II, may I shoot 300 AAC Blackout ammo with no modifications?

2. If modifications are required, must I A.) Get new can and B.) 300 AAC upper?

As always, your comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

300BLK will NOT shoot from a 5.56 gun... It will blow up! Also, it will not fit through your Ranger. 300BLK is .308, your RR is .223, and so is your can. At a minimum, you will need to swap out the barrel to 300BLK, but I recomend a whole new upper and a new can.

Will a 5.56 bolt even close on a 300BLK round?

I have not tryed it, and won't but I have seen (on the net) at least two guns blown up from putting 300BLK in 5.56 guns. I do not know if they forced it in with the FA or not.

Krammes - Great stuff Sir! Must most move quickly to order before obongo and minions trample on our gun rights. Hell, most likely have new can in hand before finding 300BKL ammo!

Holly mutha of pearl - 7.62SDN-6 = $1,050.00... so much for my bonus going to just a new 300BLK build with Aimpoint Micro H-1... maybe I can cut laws for 5 bucks a yard as I did as kid in the 60's....

Not my picture, i cant remember where i stole it from, it just looks cool...
It is almost artistic the way to baffles peeled the jackets off a few bullets before completely clogging. I think the caption was that this is what happens when you fire 300BLK in a 223 can...

ive got both a delton 556 and an aac 9" blk, ive tried to chamber each in the other and its a no go maybe some monkey banging on the useless forward assist could blow them selves up but hey thats life if your stupid maybe you should die?

Try putting the 5.56 can on the 300blk ill think you will have better luck that way.
