I have an m4-2000 in 5.56 and love it! I am waiting for the stamp for my SDN-6. I have 2 rifles in 6.8 that I was going to use the SDN-6 with, when I came across an m4-2000 in 6.8. Am I better off just using the SDN-6 on the 6.8 rifles, or would I get better performance from a true 6.8 silencer? What do you all think? True it is another stamp, but I got the taxpayer of the year last year award with 12 stamps, so that part doesn't bother me. Financially probably doesn't make much sense, but would it be worth it performance wise?
Thank you
M4-2000 in 6.8 spc worth it?

Re: M4-2000 in 6.8 spc worth it?
Having searched and I have read a bunch about the 6.8 can and everyone seems to like it. 7.62 - 6.8 = .82mm difference in diameter. I do not know the size of the hole in either silencer, but less than 1mm difference in the size of the projectile makes me think that the SDN-6 will do a fine job of with the 6.8. Maybe it makes a bigger difference shooting 5.56 in a 7.62 silencer. There is 2.06mm difference in bullet diameter. Just throwing out ideas here. What do you think?

I doubt you would notice any appreciable sound difference between the 762 can and a 6.8 can. The extra volume of the 762 can would make up for the larger aperture. The only thing you would sacrifice is a little more weight and length with the 762 can. I'd get the 762SDN6 and not look back.

Good Choice, IMHO.
I'd have gone 7.62 silencer all the way. It's just more versatile in the long run.

get a 7.62 can, works great on 6.8. Much more versatile.

Tough call. I have the SPR/M4 in 223 and 6.8. For 7.62 I use the SCAR-H-SD.
The SCAR-H-SD is bigger and heavier than the SPR/M4. I would not want it on my 223.
Have not shot the 6.8 for a while but I do recall the 6.8 SPC SPR/M4 being heavier than the 223 version.
When I shot them side by side I could not tell if there was more suppression in the caliber specific model.
