Attn rep from AAC: Tirant45 issue

Post by Fireman1291 »

I finally cleaned my TiRant45. Shouldn't I have 4 grey baffles? Per Mike Mers in a old post I looked up the grey baffles aid in sound reduction.

Yep there should be 4 gray ones. And one of them should have a totally smooth rim without alignment notches. That one goes against the top endcap.

I have seen a few TiRants that looked like that having only 3 grey baffles.

I'm not impressed. It seems the assembler ran out of grey baffles and just used a black one. But the part that hangs me up is then why would that last baffle have a smooth end? There are no tab cutouts on it. It is the last baffle. Which is why I'm waiting to hear from AAC.....

They don't watch this forum that closely anymore, you'll get quicker results most likely by emailing:

There are several variations of the baffles. You have the newer tabbed baffles for the take apart models. The last baffle being black is completely normal.

The user's manual on the website is the most up to date and shows the baffle stack with the same configuration you have:

Not in the least.

There are "tan" baffles, grey baffles, and black baffles. What matters in the locating notches and the bore diameter.

That was my old TiRant9. The above is my new TiRant45.

Note: After I boogered up my TiRant9 trying to jailbreak it. I mailed it in to AAC and they replaced the baffles to newer tabbed ones, replaced the fucked end cap, and perhaps did not use as much loctite on the end cap threads as they should have  all for FREE. I now have a user serviceable Tirant9.

I fucked up the can and AAC fixed it and they didn't even have to as I voided the warranty by attempting a jailbreak on an early model Tirant9. Just wanted to put that info out there.

Thanks again for getting back to me Cade.

Mers has said in the past that the color coding has to do with baffles differences so minuet that they had to color code them. So yes, color does matter. But it appears I have the newest config per Cade's last reply. Thanks.
