I have read here on the forum that it is possible.
But, what's the group's thoughts?
I would only run jacketed rounds.
I just had my LGS order the 556-SD.

Great question.doubloon wrote:What does the manufacturer specify and warranty?
The warranty is very vague..... At this time I do not see a manual for the 556-SD on AAC's webb site.
Lateck,
Re: .22 Mag through an AAC 556-SD?
Typically, rimfire rounds through a sealed can are a no-no. I doubt it would blow the can up, but if you shot enough through it, I'd imagine you could have a lead buildup issue that might cause problems the next time you put full-throttle centerfire rounds through it.

22WMR is pretty much all jacketed anyway, I don't see what the problem is.

Go for it. Don't shoot a lot of .22WMR without doing a few mag dumps of 5.56 if you are going to use it on both calibers. If its a dedicated WMR can, it will sound great and take forever to clog up. And since its all stainless and incomes, it can be cleaned in The Dip if it does get nasty.
