I got my brake in the mail on Tuesday. I got the wrench to take off the new Savage barrel nuts yesterday. AND today I'll take the barrel to school and thread it for the brake! :D :D

Yep, a whole packet of them in with mine. I was beginning to wonder how one was to achieve the right "timing" until the little baggie of shims fell out. Should be a piece of cake. I just with they had room to put the flashhider on the end so it would ring properly! :D

Yeah got mine this week. What is the concencious on what "o'clock" to get it to with the shims before torquing it?

Quick question....a silencer is supposed to help reduce felt recoil, and so is a brake. Does combining the two reduce recoil even more, or will the brake just help with unsuppressed shots?

The 3 M42000 mounts I have installed hand tight at around 10:00 - 10:30
then wrench to 12:00 but that is with .5x28 threads.
Other thread pitch may be diferent

Yes this is going on my Remington 700 SPS Tactical .308 with the 20" heavy barrel. I am having the guy's at TT put it on so I know that it will be indexed perfectly. I will give them a call and see if they can tell me the proper pre-torque position to have it before they tighten it up.

When I get it back in a couple more weeks I will take some pictures (with my higher end Nikon this time) and post them on this thread.

Not only is this going to be a kick ass gun but it is going to look SWEEEEET with that brake on it!!! :D

I just bought a SPS Tactical today, waiting on a brake. My dealer has my 762SD can. What scope are you running on yours?

I have a Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50 IR TMR on one of my guns right now and absolutely love it! The TMR is a great reticle and I love the 20 power setting. On the down side it is a huge scope, but hey there is nothing wrong with a huge scope is there?

I like big scopes myself. I just don't have the cash right now to buy one, and I can't decide on what I want. I love the look of the tactical Leupolds, just can't swing it right now.

Good thing about this gun is, the wife will never know the difference in the two. As long as I don't have them out at the same time.

The brake only helps reduce unsuppressed recoil.

So do you also have to rockset the brake on or is it just torqued on?
