WTK M4 2000 Is mod 08 marked on can?

Post by dale5150 »

My dealer has a M4 2000 in stock he says was just shipped recently but it is marked M42000 and doesnt say mod 08. It has the mount with it also and is marked on the box with mount. Is this a mod 08 or an older one?

mod 8

I have both a mod 7 and 8, my model 8 has a NSN # while the 7 doesnt. maybe that is a way to tell.

check the baffles. I think if they are cone shaped then it is a 08.

I called AAC, they asked me to describe my M42k, I told them it had NSN# on it(that's a good sign), then asked me to look inside.Does it have cone shaped baffles or flat washer looking baffles.Cone shaped ...It's an 08!! It came with a black nylon pouch, and a 51t blackout mount.

Mod 08 blast baffle:

The exception is the M4-1k Mod 08, which has a flat blast baffle (and two of the above-style cone baffles later in the can).
