Firearms legislation enacted Wednesday will help bring New York up to speed in a perpetual race to give manufacturers the incentives and state subsidies they demand to keep regional plants open.
After more than a year of politicians lobbying on behalf of Remington Arms plant in Ilion, the governor signed a bill into law that allows manufacturers to possess firearm suppressers — also known as silencers — prior to securing contracts, according to Jim Rabbia plant manager.
Current law prohibited manufacturers in New York from even possessing silencers without a pre-existing contract for the work, according to Rabbia. “It precluded us from developing other contracts,â€

Its the other way around, we are producing them for Remington. We are, as I'm sure you know, a part of Remington as of late last year.

Maybe a way of NY saying 'you are welcome here' to Remmington for their current plans to move the Marlin manufacturing from Connecticut to the Ilion NY Remingtom facilities. They could have moved it to Marlin's headquarters in NC.

Firearms Engineer for hire on piece work basis.
