Still - if one were made to fit onto an SPR/M4 MITER mount, I'd buy it. Period.
It would be PERFECT on my STG whilst the SPR/M4 graced the ACR.

Even if it were classified as an NFA item, I'd still buy one.
& I can assure you I'm not alone, bro - I'd betcha my transfer tax more than 10 people would buy one.

Just sayin...

I think we need some present clarification. I mean, c'mon, you guys sell SILENCERS to the general public and design RIFLES for Remington and you're worried about the liability of some dude getting a jacket fragment embedded in his leg?

If you guys really want one of these, just buy and register an M4 1000/2000 and cut it down and take the baffles out. :-)

So you want them to be sold but with a RUGER style warning engraved on them "WEAR EYE PROTECTION. READ MANUAL BEFORE USE."

Robert, I have been after one of these since Stickman first posted pics quite a while ago.
Major Malfunction was initially quoted by AAC $700 plus the tax stamp to order one in for me which I agreed to.
Then someone pulled the plug at AAC.
That sucked.

So, I know it is low volume and stupid expensive but I could use it on my 9.25" AR.
Who sells suppressors anyway?
This "You'll shoot your eye out" business is crazy, give me the waiver and I will sign it.

Are you going to make anyone you sell it to also sign the waiver? I guess that can be in the first waiver.
I wont sell it and ill be adding in in the trust with the other AAC NFA goodies. You could also make put in the waver that I am bound by a legal contract (ie. the waver) not to sell the Item and or transfer ownership other than to return to AAC. I really don't care this is just a must have item, that I would really like to have.

Dude, take a chill pill. You sound like your going to bust your load over this rebar cutter.
And FYI - its not an NFA item. It has no baffles.

Alright, guess I'm slow. This is a REBAR cutter, as in the metal bars used to reinforce concrete? What's wrong with a $9.99 hack saw at Home Depot?

I agree with your thinking but that's not what I was told by AAC.
If it meters 1dB lower than a regular gunshot BATFE can classify it is a suppressor.

I don't care about cutting rebar with M855.
I would be using this like a Noveske flaming pig: something to tame the blast of my shorty AR.

This!!!!

Spoke with The Someone Special today at AAC (Not going to name names), he said that because AAC produces suppressors and that the Blackout (qd mount) is a mount for a suppressor the ATF classifies any thing mounted to it as a suppressor.
I asked what about if; Remington makes it, and what I got was something to the extent of while that would take some figuring out but "Remington would never let it out because it of liability reasons "some dude getting a jacket in the leg and bleeding out".

So how about a compromise, lets scrap the re-bar cutter portion and just have an attachable KX3 design, IT is a WIN WIN, little to no liability for cutting re-bar, and we the CIVILIANS get something use-able.

its perfect,

I can run a black out for no flash
I can run a suppressor for a reduction in noise and flash
or I can go super compact and use the KX3 attachment for house clearing when I dont want to pack my can

This is a multi role option no other manufacture is capable of producing and now the folks at AAC can corner the market on it.

Hell, this will probable open a whole new consumer basis for AAC as people is states that are not suppressor friendly or can not afford a suppressor but need (can legally have) the option of running a flash suppressor or a KX3 type thing.

I totally agree.
Don't expect any kind of continuity of thought or rulings from the BATFE.

It's also sort of silly that they want to call it a silencer because it attaches to a "silencer mount." I mean, the Ranger 2 attaches to muzzle threads, so is my A2 flash hider now a silencer?

O the pictures are dead sexy no doubt about it. When he originally made this post there were no pictures, just a poll and someone freaking out about a new AAC product. I was confused to say the least.

Please Read the NEW thread; there is talk about cutting the ears off and using it as a noveske pig type of removable device to direct sound away form the shooter in place where flash hiders, breaks and cans will not do the job.

On a side not; DONT BE A REACTIONARY PRICK read what has been said and post accordingly: I do not see what your problem is here. If your missing it there is a new thread on the same AAC menu page.

Haus, read the new thread. What people want is a linear comp that attaches to the 51T QD attachment system. The Rebar cutter is both designed to cut rebar and be a linear comp. We want the linear comp.

In the other thread there's also people asking for AAC mini-cans that work with the AAC attachment system. Maybe a series of cans. Linear comp, mini can comparable to the SF minis and micros but for the AAC system (AAC Runt), in addition to their full size cans like the M4-2K.
