Post by kapkanimd »

So finally got back to town, my form 4 was approved back in August but I just now am getting to picking up my TiRant 45 that I ordered from the very first batch in October

Havent shot it yet, and I dont have my USP-Tact with me to take pictures at the moment, but they will come tonight or tomorrow

God, I hate Flikr... along with facebook, myspace, etc...
Here's one as a teaser, with instructions on how to post the others (as the owner of the photos):
Image

From Flikr's FAQ:
The HTML code to embed a photo in a web page that you used to find on the All Sizes page is now only in "Share this." To get to it just go to the main photo page, click "Share this", and then "Get the HTML." We now also include BBCode! (standard message board code)
EDIT: By the way, you want BBCode if possible, that's what these boards run.

A suppressed UMP is exactly the platform I wanted about 10 years ago. When I saw the cost and inconvenience of going doing the USC conversion (after doing an SL8 to G36 conversion) I gave up.

This requires some video to be posted.

That really is a nice set up. I have wanted to do a UMP for a while. What is the extended mag in the USP?

Fixed barrel spacer, pretty sure you have to order those separately.

How much did you chop off the barrel? I'm looking to convert my USC and chop the barrel to fit my Ti-Rant can as well.

@wakerider017 - what kind of information would you like? I pretty much bought it already converted so didnt have to do anything. Its the factory barrel cut down to 7.78" (according to form 4) by tornado tech and threaded to HK USP-T threads. It has the HK UMP shorter version folding stock (not too sure details about this).

So yeah, not sure what else I can say about it, other than its pretty sweet

How much does an UMP cost, and where could I get one?

well it's not a UMP, it is a USC converted to a semi-auto version of the UMP (in theory). You can buy an HK USC any where and either do the conversion yourself or send it to someone that does it. Its not a cheap project by any means.

TRUTH. You have to really, really want one to pay for it. Stock USC's still go for around $1600 or so last I checked. The conversion is several hundred for parts, then there's the $200 for the SBR paperwork, cost of having a smith cut and thread the barrel... etc.
