Re: SPR/M4 Muzzle Brake Mount
Is there enough room for an SPR/M4 to seat on that gun? The mount is so close to the gas block.
Re: SPR/M4 Muzzle Brake Mount
Plenty. The can should only go just back over the teeth, so looks like there is 1/8th" or so extra.FB3 wrote:Is there enough room for an SPR/M4 to seat on that gun? The mount is so close to the gas block.
Kick Ass Design
Re: SPR/M4 Muzzle Brake Mount
Shooting my Noveske 12.5 with just the brake, is like a German 88 going off with no recoil. KUDOS on the brake.
Re: SPR/M4 Muzzle Brake Mount
It fits with about 1/32" to spare, I can just see daylight through the gap.

Re: SPR/M4 Muzzle Brake Mount
I just picked up one of these the other day to throw on my SBR. How do you install one if these? The one I bought came with some washers and Rocksett. It was my understanding that you're not supposed to use a crush washer on a suppressor setup (not sure why), although these aren't crush washers that it comes with I don't think. I'm still trying to decide why they would include them though if I'm ot supposed you use them and only install the brake with the Rocktite as the instructions suggest. Granted, I think they just packaged these with the same instructions as the standard flash hider since they're so low-production. So could someone who has installed one of these explain to me what they did?
Re: SPR/M4 Muzzle Brake Mount
Someone will be along shortly to explain more if not I will we I get to a computer. You use the shims to time the brake.david05111 wrote:I just picked up one of these the other day to throw on my SBR. How do you install one if these? Re: SPR/M4 Muzzle Brake Mount
I look forward to someone explaining it. I sorta understand about using the shims to align it, but beyond that, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to use another form of washer with it or not, etc.yamatitan wrote:Someone will be along shortly to explain more if not I will we I get to a computer. I got mine from placing a WTB ad on Arfcom. There aren't too many of these things floating around; as I understand it, only about 100 were made in the world. I emailed Ranier about one and they're sold out; they mentioned they didn't know anyone else who had any left. Best bet is to place an ad and hope that someone decides to sell. Won't be cheap though; expect to pay anywhere from $125-$200+ for one these days.sevin8nin wrote:I don't suppose anyone still has any of these in stock?
Re: SPR/M4 Muzzle Brake Mount
Ok im back got busy building my SBR lower last night and forgot about this thread. Anyway you use the shims to time the brake, you want the ports on the brake to facing the 3 o clock and 9 o clock positions and you want to torque it about 25 ft lbs if you dont have a torque wrench then I just use pretty snug but not stupid tight approach. lol So start by screwing you brake on with no rockset and and see what position it lands in. if it comes out in the right position you dont need any shims if not start adding until after hand tightening its a couple of hours off the position. Then using your wrench torque it until its in place. You dont need any other washers that can throw off the alignment and lead to baffle strikes. Once your satisfied you have it time correctly pull it off and rockset it in place.

Re: SPR/M4 Muzzle Brake Mount
Anybody try to put one of these on the KAC Christmas OG 11.5" barrel? Might be too close to call as I just measured it at 2.5" of freespace behind the threads . . .

Re: SPR/M4 Muzzle Brake Mount
I hate to muck up this thread but I bought one several months ago and decided to build a 300blk SBR instead.
If anyone is interested, let me know. Its never been installed.
