Thread pitch for Titan QD brake?

Post by krecon1 »

Going to be replacing my Badger FTE (3/4-24) for a Titan brake and suppressor on my Surgeon .338 Lapua. Assuming the barrel will need to be reprofiled slightly to fit the AAC brake.... Is there any reason why I couldn't or shouldn't just get a M18-1.5 threaded brake and have the smith cut, thread, and profile for the new brake?

Thanks.

I went with 5/8x24.

I don't think you'll need to do any work to the barrel unless you want to...

Last i knew, TiTAN brakes were available in 3/4-24.

They are, but looking at your threading guide/blueprints the M18-1.5 will better fit my barrel due to it's current profile - it would need to be cut back more to meet the specs of the 3/4-24 brake.
