Is that a proprietary rail I am looking for the best rail for an 11.5" upper with M4-2000. I like the looks of the can in the inside of the rail and don't even know where to begin looking!

Do to the locking latch on the M4-2000, it's not a good idea to run it inside a can, nevermind the heat issue.
Get a rail that is 1" shorter than your barrel length and you will get a very close to flush look. I believe the KAC midlength is close to what you want, but might be a hair too long..

So is the Honey Badger actually going to be sold on the civilian market or will it go the way of the Masada?

I would say yes - you are the only one.diablito wrote:sorry, but am I the only one who thinks its ugly as sin??

Not the only one.
I think it looks like a Frankenbadger.
Like an AR and an MP-5 had an illegitimate child. It looks like an amalgamation of the two with different parts thrown together in different colors that do not come together as a cohesive, finished product of its own.
Honey badger may not care, but honey badger look confused.

So would it help if it were painted one color?
Re: Honeybadger??? Um... can we get some (good) pics of this
Probably not. Most people think form over function... You could develope the perfect whatever, but if it looks wierd, you can forget it.silencertalk wrote:So would it help if it were painted one color?

Maybe have a few versions? The gold makes it look unique, and like it's name (honey). But the tacticool guys will always want black. Cops, SEALS, etc. will probably want black also, if it is to displace the venerable MP5.silencertalk wrote:So would it help if it were painted one color?

don't think its the color as much as its truly hideous!! maybe thats the allure theyre going for, in that case... yes, 1 solid color!
Re: Honeybadger??? Um... can we get some (good) pics of this
I think this would be a huge step away from "prototype-like" and towards "finished product."silencertalk wrote:So would it help if it were painted one color?
Also, as steve said, a solid color will allow it to breach a wider audience. Different versions are probably not a viable option, especially with a new product, but maybe something AAC should store in its back-pocket for the future..
If this rifle is trying to be something evolutionary, I certainly wouldn't want it to look like any ordinary custom AR - a little bit of weird can be a good thing. I feel the design is still trying to balance this.Probably not. Most people think form over function... You could develope the perfect whatever, but if it looks wierd, you can forget it.

I like it the way it is... I think it has character. To each his own though.
