Re: 2012 at SHOT from AAC so far
Are the SR5 and SR7 compatible with the 51t mounts or will they only work with the new 90t mounts?
Re: 2012 at SHOT from AAC so far
Oh my
Are the MINI cans coming to 90tooth?
90tooth mount weight? Any change in ring? A brake option?
Do any of the new cans have spikes? joking
Sound reduction change on the Element 2?
Hunter sound reduction more or less then the cycloneK?
Will the 9" uppers be coming with 1:7 twist and a 90tooth mount?

It says Taper Lock, so I'm just guessing no as the can won't have a matching taper.the_accuser wrote:Are the SR5 and SR7 compatible with the 51t mounts or will they only work with the new 90t mounts?
Re: 2012 at SHOT from AAC so far
thanks for the info. i want a Mini7.
beside the benefits of lower back pressure from the SR5 (i feel like i'm typing about a Toyota), is there any significant decrease in sound?

Yes, sorry, a 3-lug for the Ti-RANT. VERY slick... it is internal and replaces the spring and piston... I'll find a pic..arcetri wrote:Any 3-lug for the 9mm Ti Rant yet?

I think we've all hit a wall in terms of supersonic rifle sound... with bullet and action noise, you're looking at 132-136.

Re: 2012 at SHOT from AAC so far
jason - thanks for sharing the info for those of us who couldn't make it to vegas this week! can you share any detail specs on the hunter (length, weight, signature reduction?). sounds like this would be a good alternative to a cycloneK (and good competitor to a mystic perhaps) for a dedicated can on a cut down 6.5" 300BLK (home-grown honey badger clone).
Also - do you know if RSR will be distributing AAC complete AR rifles and the handirifle, and any idea of actual release dates for these? Very interested in the handirifle! For those of us without a switchblock on our 300BLK, i think the handirifle would make a very inexpensive platform for showing off suppressed 300BLK. maybe an obvious question here, but the handirifle will be threaded 5/8" x 24, correct?
glad that I already ordered my ranger3
sad that i also ordered an M42K

RSR and Acusport should be carrying everything, I don't know release dates for sure.jaredr wrote:jason - thanks for sharing the info for those of us who couldn't make it to vegas this week! can you share any detail specs on the hunter (length, weight, signature reduction?). sounds like this would be a good alternative to a cycloneK (and good competitor to a mystic perhaps) for a dedicated can on a cut down 6.5" 300BLK (home-grown honey badger clone).

Re: 2012 at SHOT from AAC so far
Any way to update older 51T cans to new 90T? If so how much?
New cans look great by the way, also great to see the brand staying innovative. ( suck it surefire )

All those cans, and this is the thing that gets me most excited. I was thinking about something like a Contender, Encore, etc. for .300BLK since I have an SDN-6 that I'm using for 5.56 and .308. Assuming the AAC HandiRifle comes with a 16" barrel already threaded 5/8x24, that's the perfect rifle for what I want to do. Occasional .300BLK shooting, mostly for fun but maybe some hunting. Can you tell us what sighting system the rifle has, i.e. rail only, irons, etc?JasonM wrote: AAC HandiRifle, 300 BLK - MSRP $359.95
The ECO-9 was certainly a short-lived can...and I'm guessing that was the Mini-7 I spotted in the other thread? I figured that would be a micro .30 can judging by the rifle it was on.

Handi-rifle comes with a lightweight profile 16" barrel threaded 5/8-24. No iron sights, just the rail as pictured.GeneralPurpose wrote:All those cans, and this is the thing that gets me most excited. MINI7 looks just like the MINI4 but with a larger hole.

Awesome, I'll have to pick up a HandiRifle when they get released. Subsonic fun. I'm also curious about the ability to upgrade 51T cans to 90T. I seem to remember AAC saying it's technically possible?JasonM wrote:Handi-rifle comes with a lightweight profile 16" barrel threaded 5/8-24. Re: 2012 at SHOT from AAC so far
One thing I HAVE noticed is that some cans are louder at the ear than others, even those quieter at the muzzle. Out the muzzle, I agree. A wall is clearly hit. However, compare the M4-2000 to the SPR/M4. Notice how even the AAC Mini is quieter where it matters most to your hearing--at the ear.JasonM wrote:Not significant.kaotic504 wrote:thanks for the info. i want a Mini7.

To most civilians, THIS is what matters, as other than the CDI factor, we buy cans to preserve our hearing. There, peak dB matters a LOT! So sound at the ear is a very important thing, for me at least.

Is there any chance I'll be able to get the new flat element endcap for my gen 1 element?
