Ranger 3

Post by gwendell »

Just wondering when the Ranger 3 will start shipping. One of my dealers has a Ranger 2 in stock, but would much prefer the Ranger 3. Gonna run it mostly on a 10.5" upper and was thinking the all inconel baffles would be a better choice.

m42k has all inconel baffles and if the new ranger 3 is to have the m42k stack, then it will have all inconel baffles

I think the RANGER3 has an Inconel blast baffle and stainless remaining baffles.

References to it having an "M4-2000 Stack" refer to it being changed from the 3 baffle and endcap internal design of the old M4-2000/M4-1000 to the 7 or 8 fluted cones plus endcap like the current M4-2000.

Mers or Hollister should be able to clear it up.

Cooool, now we are getting some where. Thanks Jason. Just trying to decide whether to go ahead and purchase the 2 or wait until the 3 is avaiable. With the m4k2 internals, it should be a little quieter I would think :)

Ranger 3 is all Inconel

It has an M4-2000 baffle stack but will not be as quiet as an M4-2000 due to a shorter over all length.

Ranger 3 is quieter than the Ranger 2... We have to keep moving the bar!

Mers, on one of the youtube vids you said Ranger 3 had inconel and then stainless. If really all inconel, its a great value.

If its all inconel, I don't care that it's thread on, that thing is a steal. Sign me up for two. Now I don't need QD.

I know its not the right thread, but since we are talking about it, do you know what the spr/m4 and cyclone are? all inconel or just the blast baffle?
AAC SPR/M4, AAC TiRant .45, AAC Prodigy, AAC Cyclone

SPR/M4 is all Inconel

Cyclone has a Inconel blast baffle (the first baffle) and the rest are 316 stainless.

I am assuming the general specs for it (length/weight) are approximately the same as the R2, correct?

No,the Ranger 3 is

13.8 OZ
6" long
adds 4.2" to the host gun
Sounds better than a Ranger 2 but not as good as an M4-2000. This is because the Ranger 3 is shorter than the M4-2000 (less volume)

With a retail of $550 this can really rocks!
