Gemtech Subsonic .22 Ammo?

Post by FB3 »

Does anyone have any experience with this ammo? Curious about its reliability and ability to cycle suppressed pistols.

Thanks for any information on this ammo.

Well after many months of the Gem-tech site saying 'out of stock' it appears to be available, at last, at about 12 cents a round, so why not order a box of 50 and find out for yourself?

Pretty low cost experiment.

To answer your question, The Gemtech ammo works very well. It cycles a Lage 22 conversion on an M11 (full auto), cycles 2, 22-45 MKIII Rugers, with and without the silencers, and cycles a Ruger 10-22(SR-22) with and without the silencer.

dtom,

Thank you very much for the constructive answer to my question. Some think that CCI may make this for Gemtech. I have access to a lot of it for a reasonable price, so will go ahead and get some.

This is great ammo. It's very consistent; my group sizes get smaller compared to CCI standard velocity (which is a great round itself).

It's obvious CCI cranks these out for Gemtech. But whatever tweaks Gemtech specified seems to work really well. I've dedicated the orange boxes strictly for precision shooting.

Performs and cycles perfectly through my 10/22, SR22, 522. All suppressed.

Thank you all for the replies. A good friend and dealer will be participation/instructing in a camp this fall and may have access to a large amount of the ammo, so hopefully I can get a little for myself.

Gemtech 22 ammo is good stuff
Shoots clean
No jams yet in Ruger 10/22 with Tac Sol barrel with ruger and Butler creek 25rd mags
works fine in SW M&P 22 handgun and Walther P22
And, yeah, its super quiet. Nobody noticed me shooting it at the range with muffs on.
Much quieter than airsoft/paint marker even with a YHM Mite dry/wet.
But, Local shops in Seattle Area want $9.99/50 - not the cheapest, but much cheaper than 45acp and other calibers

Order it from the Gemtech website and try it out
