manufacturing your own ammunition

Post by Mark_H »

What I would like to do is not only cast my own brass and bullets but cast 100s at a time.

I did some searching and all I can find is a ton of information about hand loading. I can't seem to find any molds for brass or molds for anything other then lead bullets. I'd like to cast FMJ and JHP.

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Here are a couple of articles I found on how brass cartridges are made.

Nothing like clicking on a link and being greeted by the sound of a trumpeting elephant.

You just got me moving. I'd really like to find a lathe (even if it means going to my old highschool and bothering a tech teach at like 4pm) and make some brass or bronze slugs for 12ga loading.

Anybody know anything about THAT? I demand harder metals in my massive caliber.
