best sub sonic 9mm ammo
Trying to find out which sub sonic 9mm people think is the best price for the range, and which sites have the best price. Also are all 147 g ammo with velocity below 1200 fps called sub sonic, because some boxes actually say it on the box and others do not
Re: best sub sonic 9mm ammo
Any 147gr factory ammo will stay subsonic (most of the time) in a pistol.
A number of ranges in my area insist on brass case ammo only, no aluminum, no steel.
I prefer to make sure it has a copper jacket. BEB (brass enclosed base) is good if you can get it for a good price. Copper jackets and enclosed bases mean less lead in the air and in the can.
Also, 147gr ammo from reputable reloaders works fine as well but if you have a problem somebody might make a stink about reloads.
Alabama Ammo Special K is reputed to be the absolute quietest ammo available, I've never tried it.

Re: best sub sonic 9mm ammo
I really like Alabama Ammo's subsonic load called "Special K"
I load my own subsonic but have yet to match how quiet these are.
Here's a link to a vid I posted on a Coastal can from Clyde Wilson, the suppressed rounds are "Special K"

Re: best sub sonic 9mm ammo
Wahoo have you loaded any 158 yet?
I did with Berry's 158s, and it worked fine.
I'd still like to know what bullets get used in the Fiochi 158s.

Re: best sub sonic 9mm ammo
Nah haven't tried to load 158's. however I've been very happy with the 147's I load. They are very quiet, accurate, and reliable. I even load 115gr Subsonics for my 9mm AR which are VERY quiet and accurate.

Re: best sub sonic 9mm ammo
who has cases of sub sonic available these days?
Re: best sub sonic 9mm ammo
I am using 147 grn Speer Lawmen TMJ Clean Fire and it is really quiet and just about the cleanest you can shoot through your muffler!
In God we trust, all others are checked through NCIC!
