Can you give me info for your 50 cal suppressor, how does it do in noise and recoil reduction. Is it available to the pubic and what are the cost, this would be for a bolt action 50 that will only shoot match ammo.
Thanks,
Paul
Looking for info on your 50 cal suppressors !

We haven't sold many .50 suppressors to the civilian market. I have a few orders now for WindRunner suppressors(.50 cal). I have not seen any info on what they metered. I will check one out of the next batch I make. As far as recoil is concerned, my .50 weighs 25 lbs with suppressor and optics. It is more pleasant to shoot with the suppressor than with the brake. The recoil seems less harsh.

Ron,
I have ordered a .50 BMG can for a Windrunner as well as a .408 can to put on my .408CT and .338LM Windrunner. This was done via FBMG almost a year ago. Can you confirm that you are building these and that you have sunch an order from FBMG?
Any idea if/when the .50/.408's are going to be built?
Thanks!

This one is entirely my fault not FBMG. I have been really busy with 12th models all year. I am going to go through my .408 and .50 orders this evening. I don't have alot of them to make, but I haven't had much time to work on them. Give me a call at the shop(530-742-3248) tomorrow or saturday. I am getting some close to being done.

I got a call from Bill at EDM arms this morning. He got his demo rifle and suppressor back recently and I asked him if he could take it to the range and get some readings at the shooters ear with my meter. He only shot 4 rounds of his standard 750grain Amax load through it, but the readings were as follows: 137db, 137.5, 137, 138. He was shooting prone inder the overhang at the public range. I'll try to get more data when he get's a chance to shoot out in the open. I will have a small batch done soon and will see how my readings compare. I will fire it in a more open environment and try to meter on both sides.

I assume this is a thread on can? Or does it attach like the other OPS cans?
Also................Any pictures?
idea what this can would run? $?
Depending on price, who would I order one from?
I look forward to your Db readings on both sides.

Should give you an idea about sound and recoil.

The suppressor in the video did not get metered. I recently asked Bill Richie at EDM Arms to check one. I saw that there seems to be a tendency to check the sound level at the shooters ear with the .50, so that is what I had him do. Meter was placed as near to the shooters left ear as possible. The shots ranged from 137 to 138db. Suppressor was dry, I don't recall the outside temps. He was under a roof, shooting prone with benches nearby. Not perfect conditions. I am going to be metering another one soon here at the shop. I will post the results.

I've got a suppressor for an M82 Barrett. I'd like to find someone who is willing to give it a try. I built one some time ago and it seemed to work well. It requires a very slight barrel mod that is hardly noticeable and will not affect anything if the suppressor is not in use. If anyone is interested in giving it a try, call me at the shop. 530-742-3248. It is the twin to the suppressor in the video on our web site.
