2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
Didn't really have time for videos. Only took a few crappy iPhone pics, message me if interested, I don't plan to post them openly.
Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
Full size 762 QDC and the full size 556 QDC just showed up yesterday. They look really good. Looks like a Good Friday shoot is in order. Will post the results.
Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
After a bunch of informal shooting, I believe the consensus is that the new line of QDC cans are pretty damn good.
The 556 QDC sounds quieter, is lighter, and less POI shift than the NT4. POI shift was mostly small, shot SBRs to 400 meters, tried 11 hosts.
The 762 QDC was much of the same. It did seem long on a ECR, but sounded very well. Handled well on the EMC's and ECC's, very good sound reduction and didn't feel cumbersome from being muzzle heavy. Sounds very quiet on 300 Blackout subs. Tried out on 10 hosts.
The 762 QDC/CQB is very interesting, it cuts down on the blast/concussion very well, but it is louder than the full size. It may be hearing safe on the 20" ECR and the 300 Blackouts (shooting subsonics). Tried the same 10 hosts as the full size QDC.
I'll post more later when time permits

Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
Look forward to hearing more. I'll be shooting my 762 QDC on my ECC, EC and a 300BLk tomorrow. I've got a 556 QDC on order, I hope it comes in soon. While I really like my NT4- it is heavy. Hearing your impressions of it make me really look forward to it.Tom12.7 wrote:After a bunch of informal shooting, I believe the consensus is that the new line of QDC cans are pretty damn good.

Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
Tried the new cans out a lot more over the past 2 days.
On the precision guns, I'm liking the small and repeatable POI shift.
Something interesting I tried was on 3 5.56 precision guns that are threaded 5/8". Put on the 7.62 flash hiders and tried the 7.62 cans, worked surprisingly well. I'm thinking the 556 QDC/CQB are going to be very nice to try out.

Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
Tried out the 762 QDC and 762 QDC/CQB on more 300 Blackout rifles. Shooting back to back, I was surprised how easily it was to tell the sound difference in different barrel lengths. A 9-9.5" compared to 16", both with and without the cans, subs and supers. I think the compact can could be hearing safe on the long barrels. The full size can on a 16" is a very quiet package. It was hard to tell the difference in sound stepping between 9/9.5", 10.5", 11.5", 12.5", 13.5", 14.5", and 16" in a row. But stepping between the extremes, it sounded obvious between the 9" and 16".

Thanks for the up-dates!
Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
Was invoiced yesterday for the 556 QDC/CQB can. Last F3s went through pretty quick, hopefully this one will too.

Come on, Really? Have you had any visitation rights and pictures?

I'll take some iPhone pics when it gets here.
Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
The 5.56 QDC/CQB can made it in. Tried it on 7 platforms, I'm very impressed. I'm going to try it out head to head from models from other manufacturers. This can is really better than what I thought I would get when I ordered it, happily surprised.
