Kevin, would you mind giving me the brain dump please.
It looks like a lot changed between the 2012 and 2013 catalogs as far as the 762 QDC cans. I'm placing an order with my dealer in the next week or so, and thought I had my mind made up.
The 2013 catalog just upset the apple cart a bit.
In the 2012 catalog at ~30db reduction and only 1" longer and 1oz heavier than the CQB, the full size seemed like a no brainier.
Bigger differences on the 2013 models, looks like the CQB shrunk and the full size grew, also looks like you shed the flash hider prong design.
I just want to make sure I make the right decision, especially since it might be 2014 until I have the can in hand given ATFs current processing times.
(Also posted these questions in the SHOT thread on M4C - so feel free to address this in either place.)

Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
We've been working on the new QDC suppressors for quite sometime.
In late 2011 We thought the design was set as we got a NSN thru Crane for the 762QDC/CQB with MARSOC on their M110K1 Carbines, however in talks with the user group, they wanted a smaller lighter can, so we keep looking at refinements to the design.
What initially had been requested by 1SFG(ABN) was a small can to go over a muzzle brake or FH to use in confined space, we had been calling that suppressor the 762QDC Moderator. The Moderator can was then refined and blended to come up with the new QDC/CQB suppressor.
The QDC suppressor did not really change, other than a refined front end to minimize flash.

Thanks Kevin, any reduction numbers available on the 2013 models? On second look the QDC change isn't as dramatic as the CQB, other than the cosmetic aspect.
vs
QDC grew .5" / 1.5oz whereas the CQB shrunk by 1.2" and shed 1.7oz.

Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
Now that I've got an order in for an SR25 ECC I am debating which suppressor to run.
I am leaning toward the kac 762 qdc, but the surefire 762 socom is in a close second. Can't wait to hear how the 762 qdc performs when some get out there.

Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
I ordered the 762 QDC - full size. I had toyed with the idea of the CQB, but after some though I went the other way. This can will be replacing my AAC 762SDN6 on all my 300BLK guns, and will be used on my ECC as well. Since the new can is the same size, but lighter than my 762SDN6 that I was already used to, I figured I might as well get the full size and get the full performance. Also, since it is rated for 300WM - it will be finding a home on my bolt guns as well.
While Surefire does make some awesome cans - I'd get the KAC 762QD over the SOCOM - if for no other reason than the mounting options on your ECC. The fact that you can now get the MAMS mount is a no brainer and worthy of making the selection on this criteria alone. There is no comparison in running the 762 Surefire muzzle brake and a MAMS. Not only in effectiveness, but the concussive blast of the 762 guns to both the shooter and bystanders; it isn't even close.
I do really want to say well done to KAC with the new line of cans and mounts/ devices. Especially offering the 762 line in 5/8x24.

Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
You have a valid point, I have a 762SDN6 as well, and it's not like it's a huge can by any stretch. So the fact that the QDC is slightly lighter is not bad. But to tell you the truth, the biggest bummer is that they dropped the "KAC aesthetics" on the 2013 QDC. I was completely sold on the "2012 QDC". But this can would really be dedicated to an ECC, so I'm seriously considering the CQB.
The 762SDN6 will probably just get relegated to being the 300BLK can. Especially since I already have two AAC 300BLK upppers.

Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
In your case, the QCB may be more of what you want since you will be keeping the SDN6; unlike me. I do agree that I did like the look of the previous QDC much better than the new one, but function over form - so I 'm not getting too hung up on it.tctlrld wrote:You have a valid point, I have a 762SDN6 as well, and it's not like it's a huge can by any stretch. During a recent class, I was able to run one of their 762 CQB/ Moderator prototypes. For a dedicated can for the ECC - I would be leaning towards the CQB - if that was my goal. It's size, weight and performance make it a great package. I think especially when coupled with the MAMS - you get to run the ECC to it's fullest potential. When you are shooting wide open, you get the benefits of an awesome muzzle brake and you can really run the gun hard and fast. Then say your situation changes - low light, confined space, adjacent shooters in a stack, etc. you can slip the CQB on and your good to go. The size, weight and balance affects are so negligible it's easy to still run the gun like a battle rifle with it on.
Dammit - while typing this I've just realized I need to buy the CQB also. F--k, I told myself I didn't need it...... oh well, gonna be an expensive year .

Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
What's MSRP on both 762 cans?
Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
MSRP is $1,431.25 on both cans.
I see you were one of the fortunate guys that got to take the Vickers class. Looked like it was great time. How did the CQB "sound" to you, assuming you had a chance to hear it w/o ears on?
I'm definitely sold on the MAMS. If nothing else I need the QDC/CQB to cover up the MAMS, sort of like a thread protector. What's insane is that I'm still waiting for the Surefire FA762SS for my precision bolt gun, and I bought that late summer. It's the wait that kills you...
BTW - nice taste in sidearm. I would just add the LEM trigger to that.

Need low light video showing flash mitigation of full length and CQB versions on a 16" barrel.
Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
Kevin, or anyone else. Any word on the 5.56 MAMS and QDC can yet? I'm drooling for this stuff and i really dont want to order one and wait a year like i had to do with my SDN6. I was hoping to find one in stock somewhere and buy it. Any news would be good (even bad news). Thanks guys.
Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans

New cans look good! Are production runs starting anytime soon on these?
What's the scoop on the 110K2? Are these going to be available commercially anytime this year?

Re: 2013 762 QDC and QDC/CQB cans
Most of the new can production has been gobbled up by Government, both domestic and our Foreign allies.
The K2 is still a work in progress, we are happy with it, but we are trying to get more weight out, and still not impact performance.

How is the flash out of the CQB cans out of 10.5/11.5" barrels with m193 or M855?
