KAC Picture Thread
Re: KAC Picture Thread
Nice guns! That URX 3 on the SR 25 looks great. I really want one of those rails!
Isn't that CQBSS mounted a little far to the rear? Maybe it's the angle or my iPhone or something?

No your right, it was just thrown on to fit in the safe and so I could take a picture to show it off. I haven't fired any of my KAC guns yet.

Re: KAC Picture Thread
I was at a gun show recently and came upon these thin rubber rail covers, I thought they would be perfect for my LW URX what do you guys think?
Re: KAC Picture Thread
Looks like they will work good, but not ascetically pleasing to my personal tastes. Are they hard plastic where you can stipple them?dane421 wrote:I was at a gun show recently and came upon these thin rubber rail covers, I thought they would be perfect for my LW URX what do you guys think?
Re: KAC Picture Thread
Ya they look kinda different. Soft rubber with ribs like a SD handguard so stippling would melt them. They are very thin so no bulky feeling on the slick rail.Ryo wrote: Looks like they will work good, but not ascetically pleasing to my personal tastes. They are numbered to the gun, each cam stays with the same gun and we only have 16 M4A1s that have the KAC mount. They are also brand new and probably won't even be fires for years.
The 110s above though all have above 700rds on them already, we've only had them for 1 year now.

Re: KAC Picture Thread
Well I was asking because in the past there has been some concern that a suppressor stored on a rifle can cause premature corrosion of the barrel's crown, etc, as they tend to attract or store moister.

Re: KAC Picture Thread
I think you'll like your SDN-6, I've tried mine on a bunch of guns. Pretty quiet, even on 5.56 and built like a tank. If you get a little wobble with it mounted, there's stuff you can do to the mount to catch the next tooth.
Re: KAC Picture Thread
can you elaborate on that a little more? i have an M4-2000, i was thinking about filing just a LITTLE off of the last tooth so it goes to the next one..... bad idea?Tom12.7 wrote:I think you'll like your SDN-6, I've tried mine on a bunch of guns. also storing the gun with the can attached like the M4A1s i posted earlier, that may be a problem if you don't clean your gun but those are brand new and probably won't even get fired for years. also when ever we accept anything back into the armory after being fired it's cleaned, and i mean CLEANED! most people will spend 2 hours before it's ready to get accepted into the armory, we need them cleaned for 2 reasons. obviously 1 reason is so they last longer and why would we keep dirty guns in the armory? 2 is so when we gauge them we can see if the gun is actually bad and the gauge isn't getting stuck on carbon or other dirt. when we gauge an entire company of guns 200+ (2 to 4+ hours with 3 guys) i'm not about to clean of them out before i stick a barrel straightness or erosion gauge in it as they take long enough. many people don't realize how much work that is involved in the upkeep of the guns or weapon systems that the military has, everything is inspected XX amount of days or before the weapon is drawn and taken to a range.

Re: KAC Picture Thread
I'm going to test it on everything; hoping to get a mount soon for my EMC especially. I'm real curious to see how it stacks up against my NT4; it is definitely lighter. Mine locks up nice and tight on the couple of mounts I've tried it on.Tom12.7 wrote:I think you'll like your SDN-6, I've tried mine on a bunch of guns.
