I am thinking of using it with a NIW Colt 14.5" 'Socom' barrel assembly; the heavier profile M4A1.

Is the micro sight on this excellent upper compatible with the "F" marked front sight post on this Colt barrel assembly?
This raises another good question, if I don't get a URX do I need to get the new micro front BUIS or will any of the others work too?

The integrated rear sight will work that same as the standard and micro flip-up rear sights.

Awesome, thanks Casey. I'll probably get the micro front sight, while I'm at it...is the KAC Long FF RAS the ideal rail for a mk12 clone?

yes that rail is the one used on the Mk12 rifle but I'm not sure which variant.

I keep watching the "Specials" for factory second free float rails on the KAC website, but, unfortunately, only M4 RASs seem to get factory blemishes.

Thx for the heads'up.
The barrel is a leftover of a small run done for AAC, slightly contoured behind the gas block, and 11.5in total length. I wanted a switchblock barrel lighter than 12.5 for the NT4, but not 10.5in to preserve the service life of the can.

Just finishing the lower today.
BTW In spite of going to the SHOT show & engaging in the frivolity of the AAC Voodoo Lounge party, Neil was extremely helpfull in getting this upper built.
All the nice things they say about Gun Gallery are true!!!

Very nice looking. I like the barrel profile a lot. Too many people want these really heavy short barrels...I've carried those in combat, it sucks! I like lightweight barrels on everything but precision rifles.

Springer Precision, I was very happy with the first barrel they did. The cost was ~$65:
