I picked up my SR15 SBR this morning from my dealer. I was so ecstatic. I also bought the AAC 300 BLK 9" upper.
These 416 uppers were the first uppers made available 6 years ago. The 10.5" has about 300 rounds through it (HKPRO FA M16 lower) and the 14.5" has never been shot.
I've waited a long time for a high quality factory SBR lower. I never wanted to do the engraving thing, I always wanted it to be factory. After all this time, I can put them together.
My photography is terrible, but you get the idea.

Sweet rifles, but there is no way you are able to use a 4x ACOG in that position. Ive never seen ANYONE run a BUIS behind them (only flip ups mounted under) because of the sub 2 inch eye relief.

You're right, it's a bit awkward. I'm debating whether to leave the M27 IAR rail on or put back the normal HK rail. The IAR rail covers the gas block where the normal HK folding sight would go. I'm thinking of just putting on the offset KAC sights that should be in next week if they shipped last week. That way, I can get rid of the rear and front HK sights.BooneGA wrote:Sweet rifles, but there is no way you are able to use a 4x ACOG in that position. I've been searching through pictures of 14.5" SBR's and there doesn't seem to be a big fan base. Usually people are at 12" and under. I understand that in some states they don't allow and people permanently attach stuff on the 14.5" to get to 16", but all in all, 14.5" doesn't seem as popular.
