Do you have a line on the new rail covers?

The last time I checked - about two weeks ago - they were not yet available from KAC. I'm totally confident the KAC sales folks will let me know when they are.
I am using 1/2" x 7" strips of 3M rubber non-skid on my own URX forends:
Good shooting,
Wes

Wow, really nice looking builds!
I'm really liking the URX 3.1 rails more and more.

It's interesting to contrast the URX III and the URX 3.1. The URX III weighs 13.5 ounces on my Com-Block Salter Brecknell electric scale. The URX 3.1 is 14.0 ounces. Both can claim to be the lightest conventional format forends of rifle length, if you take into account the fact that they have three short quad rails out front (plus three more in the rear for the URX3.1!) and four handy built-in QD sling mounting points. The URX III even has a built in flip up front sight.
Take any of the so-called "light" tubular forends out there and bolt that much hardware onto them - they will weigh more than a URX III or 3.1! And they won't be as well turned out.
Another advantage of the URX 3.1 on a precision gun is the ability to do something like this with a tripod very close to the rifle's center of gravity:
Precision gunners - take heed! This makes the URX 3.1 a great choice on a precision 5.56MM.

The tripod mount does help out! Manfrottoo with the Larue mount work well.
EDIT: Fixed errors from having spell check "on" on my iPhone that made the statement make no sense whatsoever! Oops.

What is the gas system length and barrel length on this rifle? Is it a standard length gas tube?
Thanks

Looks like a rifle length gas 18" bbl 3.1 combo?

18" SS 1x8 three groove Noveske barrel in a contour they just do for us. Rifle length gas system. We jokingly call it our "SPR Mk 12 Mod 2". 39 ounces.

Can you please post a picture of a 14.5" barrel witha mid-length gas system and the full length KAC rail without the front sight. If you have one built.
Thanks

Here ya go:
The 14.5" Noveske N4 barrel is currently the most often requested. In the past, it has usually been with the URX III. But, I anticipate the URX 3.1 will replace the URX III as most popular.

next question, does KAC offer that same style rail in a mid length style? I am asking all of these questions only because I am trying to decide which direction to go with my next build.
Thanks

It's hard to keep up with everything they do at KAC. As far as I know, however, the only mid-length URX being made is the URX II:

Group picture of last week's work:
The 3-Gun guys need to learn more about the URX. Then, I'd only have to get one kind of forend.

thanks for the photos wes. keen to hear if you've had build requests for the troy alpha rail, and if so, how does it compare to the URX 3.1?

Wes...
On the 3.1 with the Surefire Brake, is there room to run a Surefire Can? I have an 11.5 URX II and run an M4-2000 so I'm assuming the dimensions / clearance are similar but not sure how much a Surefire Can overlaps...
Thanks!!

What barrel length are you running with the URX 3.1? Exactly what model suppressor?

14.5 BCM BFH with a Surefire MB556K... The suppressor will be Surefire Mini-Monster.

Yes, you should be fine with that combo.

Noveske medium contour 16" SS with special order intermediate length gas system and URX 3.1:
0.015" clearance between suppressor and forend. I'm keeping this one.

16"?
That looks almost identical to my suppressed 14.5" URX 3.1 combo. Does the can reflex back over the barrel some? Or is it a 14.5" with a pinned flash hider to 16"?
