F1 .50 can

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

The piece lying beside it - is that a muzzle brake the rear of the can will thread over or is it going to be permanently attached to the rear/inside of the can? It is beautiful.

It's a muzzle brake that's about 6" inside the can and is what the barrel will attach too, and on the other end of that piece is the rear end cap and barrel bushing.

You don't think someone could challenge that for obviousness? "Well, we want this can to weigh less... why not thin out the tube where the pressure is lower?"

A patent is only as good as your ability to fight for it.

Ehh i might be wrong ,,but someone suggested the can should be patented
And the response was that the profile was already pending/waiting for the patent

You can not patent something that is already pending

I dont think AAC will lose any sleep if / when you make you can

Your very right Wolf, I may have taken it the wrong way. I had no intentions of patenting it.
