'Hooch Trout

Post by KingTiger »

Caught my limit of rainbow stockers Sat. AM on the Chattahoochee River in Roswell, GA. They're not monsters, but they sure were tasty when salt & peppered & wrapped in bacon in a fish basket on the grill.

There's some rainbow trout in that river above Atlanta that go 10lbs. plus.I've been told to use small trout for bait, because the big ones are used to eating the smaller trout whenever the G & Fish stock them.

those are just about my favorite size for eating trout.

they get into the 2 plus pound range and the flavor falls off really quick.

(spent my misguided young adult years roughing it in northern california, in the foothills of the sierras and southern cascades.)
