So someone needs to get a Ferrari 458 and have a vanity plate that says "SOCOM." Because it's a 458.

Sooooo many beautiful cars, and most of them are already posted..

I like the new Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe. Black. Black interior. Black wheels.

The Ferrari 458 is incredible.

I love the '63 Vette.

European micro cars are badass. http://microcarmuseum.com/ this is near our shop.

So many.

I guess that's possible, but she's 25 and it looks old.

How about a Lamborghini with one of the following bumper stickers on it:

1. Don't laugh it is paid for.
2. My other car is a Ferrari.

On the second one, I'd think, "Oh, so he does own a good car."

I had to look where that was .... Im sitting here going .... I grew up near the shop and in that area .... I have NEVER heard of that place. But I reckon near the shop is relative. Morgan County is near the shop in comparison to California.

It's ugly as hell, but I'd drive it until the wheels fell off. Or I wrapped it around a telephone poll. I doubt it would take long.

You'd find a single corner and the car would just light on fire and explode. It's like having a winnebago with 1000hp.

The Porsche GT2 AWD with P800 Kit has something crazy-stupid like 800hp.
Runs the 1/4mi in less than 10.5sec - Absolutely nasty performance out of a basically stock looking GT2
The Switzer P800 upgrade Kit (basically a PAIR of GT30R turbochargers + supporting parts) is only another $40k or so.

If I won the lottery, I would buy an AWD GT2 off the showroom and drive straight to the Switzer custom shop.

If I was to get a 911, my last thoughts would be to spend another $40k or add weight to it. Just sayin...

I would not. Here is why...

Porsche can make that car, but very likely their R&D has shown that it would not last enough to provide a warranty. It might have a MTBF of just 1000 hours.

When you spend $250k on a performance car, you're probably not concerned with taking it to the shop every other year.

When you buy a $250k car, you drive it once a year and wash it once a month.

I used to have a trio of Boxsters at my disposal to play with, what fun little cars they were ... especially the S that we had. I did all I could to get that thing to break traction and I just couldnt make it happen reliably.

Well, as long as you factor it into the cost of ownership. A car like that may cost $20 a mile to drive.

How do you figure?
Using this site, I'm getting a little over $8.25/mile.
I do not believe it accounts for inflation, but that would not be too significant.

http://www.commutesolutions.org/calc.htm

$250k Purchase
$60k Sell
5yrs @ 10k mi/yr
50k miles driven
$2500/month insurance (this was a guess)
6% purchase sales tax
$0 financing (buy with cash)
$30k for 5yrs maintenance
Free parking & no tolls
Everything else left the same.

Even paying with cash is money otherwise unavailable for investment. It always has to be figured in. But you can pick a low rate - say 3%

That is still $40,000.

And I was figuring on 5K miles a year. I don't think 10K miles a year is typical for this kind of vehicle.

But yes, if you do drive 10-12K miles a year, the cost per mile will be under $10.
