NEWS from SHOT show!

Post by MAJ MALFUNCTION »

Here's what I have so far:

SWR:

Spectres will now come WITH the pusher tool for the same MSRP (no price change for 2010).

Tridents will now come WITH LCD mounts for the same MSRP (no price change for 2010).

Their 5.56 can (A2-RA) that was shown at SHOT '09 is VERY close to hitting the streets.

Gemtech:

TWO new user serviceable .22 cans called the ALPINE and the G522
-Alpine: 3.4oz / $425 - dissassembles with a coin (like a nickel or quarter)
-G522: a mini G5, MSRP $495

A new titanium 5.56 can called the Coyote - sort of a 5.56 version of the Sandstorm (9.9oz / $1050).

New QD version of the Sandstorm, called the Quicksand (17.5oz / $1400)

AAC:

The new Titanium 300-SD will debut! At first it will be military sales only, but will be available for civie sales at some point in the (hopefully near) future. MSRP is $1800, 13.9oz, 9.5" long, 1.5"OD.

*THE BULK OF THIS INFO AND THE PICS BELOW COME FROM JOHN AT SILENCER RESEARCH*

Any Idea on MSRP for the 300-SD.

Dimensions?

I have been waiting to hear news on the new design.

Very disapointing to find out it will not be available for some time.

Alright, WTH is that thing on the barrel on the bottom gun? Looks like some end mill inspired salt shaker.

Looks like a stylized Levang linear compensator, possibly with bi-lock lugs on it.

in those monocore cans, is the seeming unfinished machining supposed to be there? like to disrupt the blast? i mean on business end of the core, if it was pointed at you. the mites and some other monocores look like the round stock that the core was machined out of have drill bit "waves" left from where material was removed to make the open space.....

Yes, those "waves" are there to disrupt gas flow, and they actually face the muzzle end of the core.

I do believe that they're aluminum, but I'd have to verify with Gemtech to be 100% sure.
