First I have to state I'm impressed by the wealth of knowledge and engineering brilliance I'm finding in this forum, over the last week I've spent 4-5 hours just reading old posts this is great stuff.
I have no immediate plans to get my form 1 going but down the line but I have a have a couple of ideas I'd love to suppress a .32 tomcat Beretta. The barrel is fixed during firing but has almost no "meat" to be threaded. Has anyone ever had success welding a threaded tube to the muzzle? I could make a 1/2-28 end and knock out a round aluminum "jig" to keep alignment perfect during welding and take it over to a guy who knows how to weld better than I and then turn the welding down if for nothing else just aesthetic purposes. Would this work? The barrel is stationary during firing and we are only talking about a .32 here.

Silenced Bobcat
If ever a pistol needed silenced, it is the 32 Bobcat. I bought my wife one several years ago. I bought it for her to carry in her purse due to its small size and higher potency than a 22 or 25. I happened to have it in the car and took a shot at a stray cat one morning. Dayum that little package was loud. you are right about not much meat. I would suggest buying a spare barrel as they are easy to swap out and not very expensive.

I hope that there IS a way(affordable way), to do just this. There are a good many of these, and similar weapons, doing hazard duty in the pockets and purses of John and Jane American.
These tiny "mouse-guns", lending support and confidence, to elderly, middle and young people, trusted, faithfully carried daily, but seldome fired. Many because they don't have the time. Sometimes an un-suspecting gun owner will go out somewhere to "test" the cute gun, where the savy owner will seak out some education. Some wont do anything and will most likely forget they've got when needed.

...infact I even practice regurly. I'm always ammazed at how LOUD they are and some of 'em bite. BUT if there was a way to supress one with somethine like the "Posideon" can be carrird and shot wet, smaller than a cigar tube and cones appart to clean. Adds sone accuracy to the weappppon (if it could only do so with my typing.e barrel mount
I for one hope someone can get the barrel extension thing whupped, either by a threaded barrel adapter, a weld on extension,
Or maybe some mfg will sell an aftermkt exteded/threaded bbl. or; maybe the good gunmakers will themselves offer models
with threaded extensions

I'm sure a barrel extension can be done one way or another. Tig welding can do amazing things, the old school way is silver solder and it works very well.
"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to Peter Carr, 1785

I'd send it to Tornado Tech or a real Gunsmith. You could do it, but if you weld it - then you risk all sorts of issues. (I am a welder with various certifications on pipe & other fun crap). Bottomline: if you or your buddy screws up (even a little) then the barrel is screwed and so is accuracy and your baffles & tube & whatever else gets in the way.......

Re: welding on a threaded extension a berreta tomcat .32 barrel
I know it is late but this is how you extend and thread a 3032 correctly with no welding:
You will need a short extension with an inside dia. slightly larger than 32, then you will machine back in to the muzzle to allow enough room to thread the inside of the muzzle, you will then thread the outside of the short extension to match the inside of the muzzle and install. At this point you will drill and thread a 1/2 x 28 adapter to fit over the protruding extension.
Recommended to assemble this with high temp adhesive or thread lock.

Repoman,
Here are two sites that show how to remove a barrel
from a Makarov and PPK with home built tools.
Can you post image of how your barrel is
set in frame as one can get a longer barrel
and put it in place. Then you can put
a clamp sleeve on the barrel with outer threads
or thread it.

E.g., Makarov ( also for PPK ) Removal set up:
