...and all I heard was the hammer drop.
This thing has to be one of the best .22LR suppressor hosts I have ever shot. So much fun, so light weight, so quite. I highly recommend one of these. I just cant get a enough of it.

F--k, guess Im buying the M&P15-22 next. Awesome video, looks like there is less action noise than on a 10/22.
As asked above, is this the factory threaded version? Or did you send out?

The barrels on the newer versions with the factory threading are pretty good. I handled them also looking for a nice inexpensive .22 to suppress. I just could not get over how light weight it was but just could not get passed all of the "polymer". Just too much plastic on a rifle for me to own but probably a blast to shoot. Either you like them or not.

They are factory threads. They fit perfect. I have only run Winchester and Remington subsonic ammo and they both about the same. Even with federal bulk it was still pretty quite for a supersonic round. I'm happy. Here are some new pictures of it with the MBUS.

Re: ...and all I heard was the hammer drop.
How are the mags holding up with the suppressor? My biggest problem shooting my 10/22 with a can is the mags get gummed up pretty fast and cause ftfs. Do the AR style mags come apart for cleaning?
Re: ...and all I heard was the hammer drop.
The mags do come apart really easily, just takes a few minutes to break them down and clean them. There are two generations of mags, the new versions are marked "25 round" right under the 22LR on the original mags. Newer mags have solved a lot of the issues that the original mag caused.

You see, this is exactly why I want it. The bolt chatter will be quieter than a 10/22 per say because the bolt is housed in a polymer reciever, unlike the 10/22 metal/metal clank you get. I know there are buffers out there but the polyer gives the bolt sound a very dull toy like sound....exactly what I want. If a neighbor show me shooting it, besides the casings being ejected, they would think its an airsoft gun.

Re: ...and all I heard was the hammer drop.
So I finally just got one. Traded one of My P22's for it.
I can't get the damn flash hider off and don't want to break it so I ordered a barrel vice block. It'll have to wait untill then

Re: ...and all I heard was the hammer drop.
Not sure what can you plan on running on your MP 15/22? When I took the factory flashhider off and screwed my Pilot on it bottomed out on the blast baffle before squared up against the shoulder on the barrel. I'm using a spacer with mine.

I plan on using my Silencerco Sparrow. I should be long enough...but if it isnt. Where did you get your spacer?

Re: ...and all I heard was the hammer drop.
Wherever you get a spacer (I got a threaded spacer), make sure it is perfect before firing your silencer with it. The one I got had to be ground and refinished. Had it not been, it would have resulted in a baffle strike, even though the barrel threads were perfect.
Re: ...and all I heard was the hammer drop.
I had a thread protector from a Tac-Sol Pac-Lite upper milled down. +1 on making sure the spacer is square, to prevent a baffle strike. In a pinch I guess you could use peel washers. However in my case I would have had to use a s--t load of them to get the required thickness, spacer is definatley the way to go. Don't use crush washers, it can cause alignment issues. I think John from Silencer Research was selling spacers (on his site) he made at one time for guys running 9mm cans on AR's. Think he was selling them for $5 or something. I would guess one would work on the M&P barrel, not sure if its the same O.D. as the 9mm barrels? Don't know if you be able to get in touch with him he seems to laying low lately. Possible Brownells may have some type of spacer. Hope this helps.Fireman1291 wrote:I plan on using my Silencerco Sparrow. I should be long enough...but if it isnt. Where did you get your spacer?

Re: ...and all I heard was the hammer drop.
Thanks for the info...I think the sparrow will be long enough. Its designed with a longer adaptor in mind for O-ring engagement and I just looked at it and I think itll be fine. Just tried to get the flash hider off before my barrel vice block comes in...no dice. I heated the F--k out of it and still nothing. I called S&W and they advised it doesnt have any thread locker and that I need a barrel vice block to do it safely....im too impatient....this sucks.
