Supressor Baffle Pics!

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

Supressor Baffle Pics!

Post by Bendersquint »

Why don't you see pictures of suppressor internals from the major companies?

Is there any interest amongst my fellow readers here for pictures of the various baffle designs?

YHM, AAC, SWR, HTG, Gemtech etc....

I have a mess of the pictures I can post if there is interest.

Yes. Also, some drawing of various designs would be nice. Hunting through the OLDER pages is a chore. A search gets you A LOT of pages of "stuff".

Thanks.

Here's an x-ray of quite a few suppressors. Somewhere on the web someone matched up the numbers with models, but my google-fu fails me at the moment. Here's what I can identify just visually:
9.AAC M-2000
11.AAC Ranger 2(?)
13.KAC Nt4

There is a lot of wasted interior space, and this can is built like a tank!

Dimensions are available if requested(please be specific on the dimensions requested, I have already been asked for all measurements "for informational purposes", don't have that kind of time and don't want to reverse engineer anything, hope you undestand).

it is totally unsed dead space, one or 2 holes would increase suppression no doubt.

It is built like a tank and handles heavy rate of fire 5.56mm with ease. Just an inefficient design.

The baffle walls are super thick as well, was surprised when I opened it up the first time at how beefy the whole can is, tubing is pretty thick as well.

i see you do not like it to much , it's loud ? it is normal for a tiny can like that, they say aris is quiet , i think the designer added any hole looking that are aris , aris-2 ,aris-3, and aris-4 = 4 holes . but as you say it looks robust .

I don't dislike like the design just disappointed in the amount of wasted space, like having 10 extra rounds in your mag and not being able to use them.... a capability that is lost.

It isn't LOUD per se, it is louder than the ARIS but for the size its acceptable and to my ear it seems hearing safe.

From what HTG told me the ARIS is numbered according to the number of total baffles in it. Eureka 3 has 2 baffles and designed as a small entry can. HTG also said that the ARIS doesn't have any holes in the baffles, just like the Eureka baffle. This was over a year ago so I don't know if they changed the design since then.

When i get some time I will get a wall thickness for the baffle, its like a block of steel!

Is there interest to post more?
