Recent wait times

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

What is current wait time for a form 1? Just got put in the mail this week. What are the chances of having it back by mid July?

I'm currently at 84 days. I've been pending since April 5. I'm hoping to get it in the next 10 days or so. . .

Entirely examiner-dependent.

I would not be sanguine, but one never knows.

I've had 2 pending since ~April 10, one was cashed end of Feb, the other the middle of March.

I mailed mine in back around the first of Feb and when I checked on it the 28th of Feb it was not even in their system. I called back on the 3rd of May and they said it was pending. I just said thank you didn't ask any of the smart questions as the person that I talked to could barely hear me (skype from overseas).

ETA: Examiner is Sandra Snook pending as of March 20th

By letter of the maker's name. What that is for individuals and entities are determined differently.

Other than calling to check the status, is there an online system like the ccl site? I am at 64 days since my check was cashed.

The phone is the only way to check.

By this time you should be pending.

i must have something good going on at least part of the time...

i ordered the last dozen cans from YHM and under four weeks they shipped to me. they'll arrive tomorrow. in the meantime i've had three on order from thompson machine for 11 weeks. ...and they are still waiting on atf approval.

doesn't make sense. i was under the impression the atf worked on the paperwork that was incoming and seperated it out by alphabet... it must be via the alphabet of the manufacturer, not the alpha of the purchaser... otherwise why would i have the latest round of cans come in so quickly and those i ordered long prior from somebody else take so long?

hell of a note...
