Form 1 Finished

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

I want to see the comparison between putting in all baffles vs baffles and spacers (which is what I have drawn up currently)

That, i can not do. I drew it up really quick to check weight and to see how far to plunge cut. I didn't save what I did because It was all done on paper to give me some geometry practice

Nice job. How long did it take to make one baffle?

The first one took about 75 minutes. I wasn't sure how deep of cuts to make, and i triple checked everything. The first baffle I made is in close up picture. After 3, they only took about 40 minutes. Omega baffles require a lot of material to be removed which is the only downside

That is an awesome sounding can. Are you by chance an engineering student? If not, you should change majors.

Add my admiration for your well executed design. I especially enjoyed your YouTube confirmation.
Yesterday at the range my stapler for my target made more noise. :)

You indeed have a great future in any endeavors after college. Perhaps you will be the one
who designs a 'less-than' 100 db can .. the Higgs Boson grail of suppressors.

Again, your posts are, as is done on this site, +1. [Am I using it correctly?]

Enlarging on your bright future, consider applying to MIT ME [Mechanical Engineering] Department, Course II.
I do not say this lightly just for an ego stroke.

The Institute is unique in that it accepts graduates not just on grades but on creativity. Your delving into
acoustic attenuation research is transferrable to so many disciplines, including the forefront in exotic military
weapons development, fluid hydrodynamics (e.g. acoustic diminution of vessel hulls, etc. ).

And the equipment available is heady.

Just a thought but at least do your due diligence and investigate.

Update on the weight. I finally found a scale to weigh it to see how much this weighs. It has about 250 rounds of crud in it, and it weighed 8.89 oz With the Spectre being 6 inches long and 8.5 ounces, and this being 6 9/16th inches long and 8.89 ounces somewhat dirty, I think I did a good job keeping the weight reasonable

This is really great work.

Did you bore the inside diameter and the run your chamfer mill into the cone section, or did you run the chamfer mill first, then bore?

I got a hole with a center drill, then drilled 17/64ths through the whole length of one baffle. Then worked up to a 5/8ths drill bit to the desired depth, then ran a 5/8ths 60 degree countersink till flush with the 5/8ths edge.

the outside was simple turning

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to follow in your footsteps and try this baffle style out.

First time I am coming to this forum and saw, watched and liked your silencer for your P22. I intend to manufacture one using using yours as a guide. Do you have, by any chance, a draft or drawing that you could share to help me? Thanks a lot.

Did you have to get a longer barrel for your p22 or were you able to use the barrel that came with it and just remove the end cap?

floXpress in solidworks analyses continuous flow, not a single burst of air like suppressors see. Not that it isnt a tool that can be used to help you design, but you have to be aware of its very limited ability to compare suppressor designs accurately
