Received my Alabama SBR Form 1 today...

DISAPPROVED!

Because I signed and dated it before 01JUL2010. I sent it on 16JUN. My theory that since it wouldn't even go pending til after 01JUL everything would work out was incorrect. I wonder if it would have been illegal to postdate it.

So I mailed two Forms 1 back to the examiner today, dated after 01JUN, per her instructions.

Back to waiting.

my form 20 for travel was disapproved, too. I wanted to bring my SBR to my parent's home in Alabama over Independence Day and they didn't OK it.

Damn, that sucks! I mailed mine on the 2nd, immediately after the Sheriff signed (he was out of the office on the 1st). Maybe they'll get around to approving mine soon... sometimes it pays to be paranoid. Still, sucks that you've gotta roll the forms again... though I take it you meant dated after 01 JUL, not JUN.

Yep... finally got the bill passed this time around to mirror federal law on them. Prior to that, AL didn't allow SBR or SBS posession by non-govt. entities even if they were federally approved & you had the paperwork to prove it. The change went into effect on 01 JUL 2010, so those of us who've been anxiously awaiting it's passage are making haste to correct our "inventory deficiencies"...

Now if we could just get the ban on hunting with supressors eliminated... next legislative target, perhaps?

When I spoke with Sandra Snook, she said that you could mail the forms in prior to 1July. They would not process them before 1 July. Wonder if a high up axed that thought process.

You must submit 2 copies of your form 1. Make sure when you print it- you print them on the front and back of 1 piece of paper. If you are doing a trust- no need for Items:12,13. You need to include 1 Certification of Compliance as well.

I actually had the forms from the ATF, so I didn't have to worry about doing the double-sided printing on mine. I did fill out two form 1's, one compliance notice and two print cards (as well as making a copy of the correspondence for my personal records). Looks like Malcom already got your questions answered, though.

Thanks, by print do you mean with a pen-ink? Not type or computer it?

The form one is a two-sided document. If you are printing it from a computer, use the same sheet of paper (front and back) to print both sides to make your own two-sided document.
