762-SDN-6
Might as well go ahead and start the thread or ten more people will. I am guessing it a a shorter version of the 762-SD optimized for subsonic rounds? The question everyone will ask will be, when will it be available.

It is an awesome can.
It performs very well with 300BLK, and does a damn good job with 5.56 too. I like it.

Re: 762-SDN-6
Hey Jason, I just bought a Noveske 12.5" crusader with the AAC blackout flash hider in 5.56 caliber. Will the new 762-SDN-6 can work with that setup or am I better off just sticking with the M4-2000?
Thanks,
Jason
Thanks,
Jason

Re: 762-SDN-6
So this is a lighter weight/shorter length/ lower Db reducing version of the 762SD?
Re: 762-SDN-6
Shorter but a little heavier it seems.LonghunterCO wrote:So this is a lighter weight/shorter length/ lower Db reducing version of the 762SD?

If you intend to stay 5.56, the m4-2000 will be a better performer. If you want a multi-caliber can, the 762-SDN-6 does pretty darn well with 5.56.

Re: 762-SDN-6
So is the 762-SDN-6 not rated for 7.62x51?
Re: 762-SDN-6
Sorry for any confusion Steve, yes, the 762-SDN-6 is rated for 7.62x51/.308 Nato. And it's a damn good performer too.st33ve0 wrote:So is the 762-SDN-6 not rated for 7.62x51?

Stick
I've done work photography work with 45 or so manufacturers within the firearm community, my images have been used for catalogs, magazines, covers, etc. I have also shot work for the US Military. I am prior service and a full time LEO.
I now also shoot and write for Military Times. My primary focus will stay with weapons, accessories and related equipment reviews. Manufacturers can reach me through any of the boards. Have something new? Let me know.

Re: 762-SDN-6
What are the differences between the 762SDN and the regular 762SD? I am looking into a multicalber can for both .308 and .223 and was set on the 762SD. Now that the 762SDN is out, which can would be a better choice for me? The can will be used on 1 16" .223, 1 20" .223 and an LMT MWS.

Re: 762-SDN-6
The 762SD is 9.1" OAL and weighs a little more than 19 ounces. It has eight baffles. The 762SDN is 7.7" OAL and weighs the same as the full sized 762SD because it has 9 baffles. The baffles used in the 762SDN are quite a bit different from those in the 762SD. One of the design goals with the 762SDN was to make the suppressor as tranparent to the host firearm as possible. We suceeded in minimizing cyclic rate and bolt velocity increase, which has the side benefit of less gas in the shooters face.
We recently metered the 762SDN on a 16" 5.56mm AR and got right around 136 dB metering mil-spec at one meter to the left.

Re: 762-SDN-6
So for the slow guy in the corrner that just had the light bulb come on above his head: The M4-2000 mount is now compatable with the 762-SDN-6, the M4-2000, and the 762SD (new style 51T)?JasonAAC wrote:Don't know on the 68, but yes to the m4-2000 mount. the 762-SDN-6 will work on any 51T Ratchet mount.dmtsc wrote:Have you guys shot this can on a 6.8SPC? Re: 762-SDN-6
Correct. The M4-2000, 762-SD, and 762-SDN-6 all share common mounting architecture.LonghunterCO wrote:So for the slow guy in the corrner that just had the light bulb come on above his head: The M4-2000 mount is now compatable with the 762-SDN-6, the M4-2000, and the 762SD (new style 51T)?JasonAAC wrote:Don't know on the 68, but yes to the m4-2000 mount. the 762-SDN-6 will work on any 51T Ratchet mount.dmtsc wrote:Have you guys shot this can on a 6.8SPC? Re: 762-SDN-6
So if I wanted to suppress 5.56, 7.62NATO/.308, .300BLK and 7.62x39 this would be THE can to get?
While I only have 5.56 right now, I would like to get the others and would like to have to pay for as little in taxes as I can.
What's the projected price?

Dang...I wish I knew about this can a week ago...I just bought a 51T 762-SD(Form 4 was sent to the BATF last last Wed). I really like the reduced length of the can....oh well.
Re: 762-SDN-6
51T 762-SD is an awesome can. And you'll have your can in hand by the time these are widely available at dealers.seattlite wrote:Dang...I wish I knew about this can a week ago...I just bought a 51T 762-SD(Form 4 was sent to the BATF last last Wed). Will these new 762SDN's be available before shot show?
From the number in the pdf it appears the 762SDN is about 4 db's louder on the 7.62x 51 than the regular 762SD, is this a noticable difference? Would this can be hearing safe in an outdoor enviroment?
Any numbers on the db reduction when using this 762sdn on a 5.56mm rifle?
