anyone with a surefire 7.62 can?
anyone with a surefire 7.62 can?
I am looking at picking up the surefire 762ss or 762k can, and was hoping somebody had some input on them. It looks like surefire doesnt get much love on this forum? Anyone own one?

Hey Kudu22 - Can you elaborate on those numbers a little, Host, Barrel Length, etc? I too am looking at your 7.62 cans and was going to ask a similar question....the numbers you posted would put it among the best available (actually much more quiet when compared to independent testing numbers).
Anyone else have first hand experience with the FA762SS?? Thanks.

762SS is the way to go. I run one on a custom built 18.5" rifle and it performs very well.

Damn that looks good.

I have a 7.62K I switch back and forth on some semi autos (M1A & AR10) went with it for accuracy after a few recommendations from friends.

I have been living on the range for some time now collecting data. Sound testing is (3) 10 round strings to get a 30 round average. I still have a lot of other barrels lengths to test along with other suppressors. It takes a long time to log all the data but you will see soon why we are collecting sound data on all the suppressors.

Surefire Guys?
Re: anyone with a surefire 7.62 can?
SV has a locking bar and the SS has the current lock ring latch. SV was done to a customers specs and request. SS has finer engagment on the lockring but both are in service with different military groups. Can't go into any more detail on that. If it were me I would on the SS.

Is the SV something that we will see after SHOT? Is it something that is available for purchase?Kudu22 wrote:SV has a locking bar and the SS has the current lock ring latch. Re: anyone with a surefire 7.62 can?
The SV has been out for a long time. The SS "Scout Sniper" is the newer over the barrel 7.62 suppressor. The SS is also getting the new lockring/latch and will be on display at SHOT. No changes to the SV.

No problem brother.
Re: anyone with a surefire 7.62 can?
I have 762K on custom Kreiger and M1A point of impact shifts are awful 3" to rt on Kreiger 4" to left on Mi
1A Sure Fire is no help at all. Just says "should not do that" I would never use another SF can for anything.
Too high$ and no customer service at all. Never returned any of my calls. Does anyone want a 762K cheap?

If they never returned your calls, how did they ever tell you "should not do that"?Jake,Pa wrote:I have 762K on custom Kreiger and M1A point of impact shifts are awful 3" to rt on Kreiger 4" to left on Mi

Re: anyone with a surefire 7.62 can?
In order to get any information from SF. I had to recall them after several days of no reply. It took three calls for them to request that I return my adapter which they claimed they had not received, then found (miracle) tested and judged perfect, but sent me another? The can still will not shoot to POA without 3 to 4" adjustments. Totally unsatisfactory and a complete disapointment. Stick to their lights.

Re: anyone with a surefire 7.62 can?
Have you tried mounting a different can on the rifle?
My guess is that there is something "off" with the bedding and/or muzzle threading that doesn't come-to-light until there is the additional mass/weight of the can hanging off the end of the barrel. Yeah, I realize that the problem exists on two different rifles but the POI shift appears to be in opposite directions (which might or might not be significant).
Have you sent the can back to SureFire or just the adapter?

Re: anyone with a surefire 7.62 can?
Sure fire acted like case closed. never asked about the can. could not vouch for springfields qc but this is the NMmodel and shoots pretty good with a scope. Remington shootss .25" or better with my ammo. 20" bbl 5R 10 twist. It's not the gun.
