M2 Tactical extended tube

Post by YugoRPK »

I did a bit of horsetrading over the weekend and ended up with an M2 tactical with a surefire LED light fore end. Things in mint condition with only a few hundred rounds through it . Unfortunately the guy wouldnt give up the extended tube he had. I have a couple of questions. I understand these things are weight sensitive. If I keep the light on it can I go with an extended tube and a couple of extra rounds and have it cycle light field loads?

Search around the 3-gun/USPSA-IPSC crowd.
There are folks making full length single piece titanium tubes.
I have one for for my M-4 but don't recall where it came from.
US part & weighs about the same as the original standard length.
Sorry for no links.

I use a Daves Metal Werks on my M1, I like it because you use the factory collar and keep you sling mounting point.

I ended up buying the DMW tube and removing that flashlight forend. Now it is much lighter and much easier to move. Ran about 400 rounds through it yesterday with all different types of ammo and it didnt skip a beat. I REALLY like that gun.

The DMW tube is good, but a touch heavy.

Nordic makes the best tube avail right now.

Not really that heavy. The problem with the Nordic one is that you can't use the factory sling mount. Ive got one on my SuperNova and the weight thing really much different . No problem cycling at all and its much, much lighter than the surefire forend that was on there before.

I'm looking for an extension for mine as well. I picked my M2 up on an impulse at a table sale at gander and I'm so happy I did. Its like no shotgun I've ever fired. My 5 foot tall girlfriend can even fire full house 3inch loads out of it. here's mine with the mesa side saddle and rail
