How many units do you need to make for a run?

You could have had them long since rethreaded by now. You could also likely have a machinist modify AAC brakes professionally. I know people have had custom adapters made for AK-74s.

Not likely....Tornado tech said they can't modify the mounts that the hardening process makes it too difficult.. And why should we have to have them rethreaded when they listed the product for sale and have said they would be made soon?

This is why I love the threaded mount, and not have to be dependent on a proprietary barrel extender.

Still no reason for you being hung out to dry...

Here is a piece that was done my a machinist / welder for an AK-74.

Perhaps you could contact AAC and see about getting an unthreaded, non heat treated blank.

I guess my point was standing in the corner stamping your feet doesn't get you any closer to the finish line. It frustrates me when companies push projects back, but this has got to be a a very limited demand item. They probably sell more standard mounts in a day than these would sell ever.

No, you are not.

We are running 50 M18 x 1mm 51 tooth mounts right now.

I DO NOT have a timeline and WILL post you when they are in

Guys, I know this has been a long trip but we are almost there

Good news Mike. So how about those of us who need 18-tooth mounts?

I am not sure I understand your meaning. Are you saying that I can use my 18 tooth can on a 51 tooth break?

Yes, a lot of customers do this. It is less than ideal but will work

Hmm. What are the disadvantages of this? Will the can fit well enough that it is not likely to have a baffle or endcap strike?

The silencer goes on and mounts right up. The 51 teeth are a finer profile so the spings have less to catch (con) but, because the 51 tooth gear has higher"valleys" ( think of the 18T and 51T gear profiles as having pecks and valleys for the spring to lock into the valleys) the springs inside the silencer are under more tension so they hold more firmly (pro)

does that make sense?

Yes, that makes sense. Thank you for the explanation, and for making a run of these mounts. Let me know where and when to send money. If you are only making 50 I do not want to miss out.

I know they were machined and I just updated the packaging to include the 18x1, so it should be any day now.
