How well do you know the Constitution?
How well do you know the Constitution?
"The said constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms." Samuel Adams
Re: How well do you know the Constitution?
I got them all except the "wall of separation" one. I knew it wasn't the Constitution. I guessed the Mayflower Compact, which I know nothing about.

10 for 10. My mother in law thinks I should run for office, but it would be a very short career.

great post, i think this should be a standard test for all highschool and college students... they should be taught this instead of the marxism that is indoctrinated.

I think something like this should be a test before you can vote!
As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there is a twilight when everything remains seemingly unchanged. And it is in such a twilight that we all must be aware of change in the air -- however slight -- lest we become unwilling victims of the darkness.

10 out of 10! It's probably because I just wrote a 3000 word paper on the Constitution last semester:lol:

I got 'em all.
Re: How well do you know the Constitution?
10 for 10 but I do not see how Thomas Jeffersons letters should be considered part of the constitution. His views certainly were represented in the constitution but it was a document that was modified several times and voted on as a compromise package by the constitutional delegates. Thomas Jeffersons opinions were just that. The opinions of one man and not public policy.

Re: How well do you know the Constitution?
The separation of church & state is so indoctrinated that most it is codified in the constitution and believe prayer in school is illegal. It's appropriate in the context of the quiz for being so untrue.YugoRPK wrote:10 for 10 but I do not see how Thomas Jeffersons letters should be considered part of the constitution. 10 for 10. So what do I win? I guess my goal each day is to strive to not be amongst the 90% of the population that are total idiots.
Only 49 percent of elected officials could name all three branches of government, compared with 50 percent of the general public.

Re: How well do you know the Constitution?
I'm not surprised that the ST membership is better versed in The Constituion than the public at large, but the degree is sickening. It's one thing for someone to get one, two or even three wrong. But come on. The fact that elected officials did worse than Joe Average is an abomination, and the fact that the general population did as poorly as they did makes me want to puke.
No wonder we're losing liberty. The public as a whole doesn't know this stuff? Maybe they don't deserve the blessings that our forebearers bled for.
