Re: Group
No, a 150 grain Berger bullet is a different ogive shape, which means that the bullet is longer, which means the amount of case capacity is much different from a 147 FMJ. Also H110 and N110 are not that similar. One is ball powder and one is stick powder.

Re: Group
I'll second that. The burn rate is similar, ie 16 grains gives x velocity, but VVN110 is bulkier from what I gather. I can only cram 18 grains into a case, whereas you can get at least 20 grains of H110 into a case and still have room for a bullet. I haven't used H110, but that is the impression I get. VVN110 is accurate and not temp sensitive. Not sure about H110.silencertalk wrote:No, a 150 grain Berger bullet is a different ogive shape, which means that the bullet is longer, which means the amount of case capacity is much different from a 147 FMJ. Re: Group
Nice!!!!!
I have a question concerning suitable bullets for AR-15 use.
I have noticed the 130 Barnes TTSX doesn't expand as much as i would like do you have any other 308 bullets you could recommend for hunting.
THANKS

Re: Group
Sierra 110 Varminter.
Hornady 110 V-MAX
Sierra Pro Hunter 125.
Nosler 125 Ballistic
Out of these, I believe the 110 VMAX will feed the best and the Nosler second. The others are less idea, but should be ok for hunting type use.

Re: Group
Have you tried the Barnes 110 TSX designed for SBR's? Its listed here someplace. It's supposed to expand down to 1500 FPS.selph arms llc wrote:Nice!!!!!

Re: Group
It does not expand down to 1500 fps, at least not by my definition. 1800 perhaps.

Re: Group
2.068 for the V-MAX would be my first choice load of the bullets listed.
The ProHunter is not really suitable for loading up 30 round mags so do whatever and use it for hunting a few rounds at a time. Same with the Sierra 110. 2.1 would be good for the Nosler.

Re: Group
According to Quick load doing an OAL of 2.100 with 110 Sierra it will only seat 0.063 is that enough?silencertalk wrote:2.068 for the V-MAX would be my first choice load of the bullets listed.

Re: Group
Moly is good for alot of things, but I dont think it does anything for bullet performance either.
