Optic for SBR - Poll

Specifically looking for (as close to) pinpoint accuracy with high speed capability within 0-100 yards.

EOTech.

Circle-Dot gives both CQB and 100 yard accuracy.

Its all I'll use for serious social work.

None of the above. I would/do use one of the many 1-4 illuminated scopes available. leupold VX-R on a Kel-tec RFB, Millett DMS on a SIG 556. On "1" it acts as a dot sight for CQB. On "4" it gives me the magnification to take advantage of the 556/7.62 power.

On my 12" 6.8, I have an Eotech EXPS3-2 and had plans to slap a PVS-14 behind it, but now I'm thinking about a D-740 instead. The Eotech is probably going to my 11.5" 5.56

For daytime on the 6.8 (read: Alabama hunting), I went cheap, and put a 4x Bushnell banner on it. I haven't used it yet, but it seems like it'd be pretty fast once I get used to it.

Forgot about the EO Tech option - never used one myself, my buddy just picked one up and really likes it. I'll have to give it a try.

Aimpoint. EoTech is just too delicate. Sure they fix them for free but I've never had to send an Aimpoint in for repair. Prominent tactile knob on Aimpoint is superior to the little up/down buttons on the EoTech. And way better battery life.

If you can't hit it with 2 MOA then you won't hit it with 1 MOA either. Just turn the brightness up for a CQC situation.

I like this combo myself. Inexpensive. The cantilever mount holds a spare battery, which is good for 3 years continuous on.

@ stevejobs

There's a reason all of our SF and infantry forces use EOTechs, they're excellent for engaging targets from 1-300m with speed and accuracy, and they're tough as hell. I used one exclusively for quite a long time in combat ops and swear by it. We beat the s**t out of them overseas and never had one break. Not to say Aimpoints and ACOGs aren't dependable as well, because they are; just saying don't bash the EOTech. Mainly boils down to personal preference... Any of them are high quality.

I own two EoTechs and have sent one in for repair twice. Both times because the reticle was not visible in part of the viewfinder. It's not a bad sight I simply like my Aimpoints better. Ask anyone who teaches a large class on a regular basis which of the two units breaks down more often.

Aimpoint Comp M4S. No combat experience, but I engage targets out past 200 yards with it on a regular basis. I like the simplicity and the lack of clutter that the dot provides. I've used a friend's Eotech a lot and we both prefer the M4.

I've got to get some better pics of that gun.

Are we now smitten."

My 10" 300 BLK wears a Burris Tac30 1-4x24. It points quickly at 1x, and I can hit a pig sized target out to 350 yards using the ballistic reticle, even with the rainbow trajectory of a bullet moving along at 2100 fps. An ACOG at 4x is tough to use on quick targets under 50 yards. I am confident with a red dot out to 100 yards, but mine has a 4 MOA dot, which makes it tough to see your target much past that. Overall, I think a 1-4x optic is the best compromise.

Burris FFII or Delta point. After the CS for my T-1 repair, I will never get another Aimpoint product.
If it doesn't splatter, shatter, burst or explode, it's not worth shooting.

The one on the top is the Burris 1-4x24 that I would recommend.
