what,s the difference between the 300 whisper an 300 blk out

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Based upon what Silvers was saying on the 300whisper forum, it is actually cut with a 300blk reamer.

300 Whisper is proprietary to JD JOnes, he wanted it all to himself(limited sales increadibly)

300BLK is SAAMI approved and available to everyone, AAC has done a great thing by getting a SAAMI version of the 300Whisper out there!

To partly answer the OP, it is minor pysical differences.

Maybe Robert has a diagram.

My understanding is you can shoot a 300 whisper in a 300 blackout gun, but not vice-versa.
Shoot softly, and carry a big clip.

The whisper is primarily a hand loader, tinkerer round. I think Hornady is packing Whisper® branded rounds.

In a nutshell the BLK has a longer throat than the Whisper. Kinda like comparing a 5.56 chamber to a 223.

I am no longer sure that is true. In any case, they say it is safe to fire 300 BLK rounds. Thompson (owned by S&W) had a prior relationship with SSK, as did Hornady, so they continued to license Whisper(R).

Do you think they modified their reamer to be blk compatible?

Wilson makes ammo for 7.62x40mm. At equal pressure to 300 BLK, it should be about 80 fps more velocity.

Compatibility with 300BLK and Whisper? Chambers etc...

No. 300BLK is 7.62x35, Wilson is 7.62x40, and there are other differences as well.
They are completely different cartridges.

Not at all. 7.62x40 Won't Take.
