So he said that it was about 85dB for the gunshot, but when the meter is up to the camera at the beginning it hitting in the high 80's dB with just him talking. Did i see this wrong?

Somebody better call all the manufacturer on this board and tell them they wasted their money on valid testing equipment and they should just use their cell phone.

I know I am going to use the money we have been saving for sound equipment and go to Disneyland instead since I have 2 cell phones already! YIIIPEE!!

Set the danged thing on the bench and as he is eating away
I measure how far he jumps when I fire.

a=sqrt(gamma*R*T)

a- speed of sound
gamma- Heat capacity ratio (which for a diatomic gas-i.e. nitrogen, oxygen, things that make up air) =1.4
R- Specific gas constant
T- Temperature in absolute units.

since gamma and R are constant where we humans are able to live, a is only dependent on temperature.

If the video poster would like me to walk him through the derivation, I would be more than happy to help him understand the physics better.
