Form 1 Caliber Size

Post by WileE »

I'm building a 300 Blackout SBR and in the process of completing my form 1.

Do I list the Caliber as just .30 or do I use 300 Blackout?

The caliber is 300BLK so therefore 300BLK would be the registered caliber.

Personally I would register it as a ".30 cal", then it covers all the bases if you decide after the form goes in to

Can you list .223/.30 for caliber? I'm in the same boat and would like to run a .223 sbr upper on it as well.

Silencers can't be multi caliber, for instance the mystic is rated for several calibers but its laser engraved 9mm.

JT is right, can't be registered as multi cal.

Register it as the largest caliber its capable of in this instance .30 Then you can shoot whatever SUBCALIBER through it no problem.

I find the no multi caliber registration confusing. I have a can that is about 25yrs old that is registered as three different calibers. When did this change?

Thanks

Many many many years ago, at least 10 is not 15 years. Some slip through but if you aren't seeing manufacturers getting them approved then that SHOULD be a tip for the Form1 crew.

Is he talking about a silencer or sbr?

I'm thinking sbr

he says CAN but I am thinking SBR as well. I have only seen 1 multi registered silencer and that was in a museum.

I will believe it when I see the Form4 if it is a can.

CCF Impulse IIA lists 9mm,.40,.45 on the tube. Less than 10 years old.

You can list all known and the Red Jacket invented calibers on a tube, it doesn't matter as long as somewhere in the list is the registered one, what matters is what is on the Form4.

Almost all silencers are multi-caliber, so it really makes no sense to ask for it.

Just put the largest caliber that works.

Thanks for posting the Form4, its lucky it made it through.

Renegade is right, just register for largest caliber and shoot subcaliber through it no problem.
